Bob Emmett put it well when he said that all the usual suspects are here - it's a very safe list, all films whose scores you'd recognize immediately. But others just as deserving didn't make the list, like "A Shot in the Dark", "The 39 Steps" or "The 7th Voyage of Sinbad". The fact that "Raiders of the Lost Ark" didn't make it suggests to me that 25 wasn't a big enough number!

Take a look at the original ballot of 250 films here: link You'll see that almost every one of those was as deserving of any that actually made it.
