LOVE THIS! The relationship between these two character is, imho, the heart of this show.

so…. ablonde is playing the young ALex and a brunette is playing the young Kara???? Huh???

I mean, hair and makeup can fix that (just like they do with Melissa…? Lol). But the eyes…uh…idk how they’re gonna pull that off. Maybe colored contacts. But if high school Kara has brown eyes, I’m gonna be a little mad about it.

I think we can overlook that on a show about superhero aliens.

At first glance, it looks like it should be Kara on the left and Alex on the right, and at a closer look, neither of these should be Kara because Kara has blue eyes…?

My gosh, that headline-photo combo made me very afraid for Chyler Leigh.

Interesting they cast a blonde with blue or green eyes to play Alex and a brunette with brown eyes to play Kara. Sort of have them mixed up.

Solely based on appearances, it definitely feels like the actresses should swap roles.

Wasn’t she just playing a high school student on Glee a couple of years ago? She doesn’t look much older then she did then. Change her hair a little and she could just play herself.

not really a ‘recast’ if we’re just seeing the characters at an age we haven’t seen before…

The younger versions of these characters were previously played in flashbacks by other actresses. That’s why they’re recasts. It says right in the article that the younger versions of these characters were previously seen on the show and tells the actresses who previously played them.

yes. but that was at an even younger age. we’re seeing an age we have never seen before, significantly older than the previous ‘younger’ versions.

So will we still be seeing Malina Weissman in the intro, as Kara explains how she came to Earth? I don’t really think all that is necessary anymore.

What if they changed their hair color?

well your headline was a bit misleading,made me think of things like the recasting of Kara mom. it is a proven scientific fact girls grow up, I can see in a few years these girls may be replaced.

and lets face it these actresses may only be in maybe 3 episodes at the max this season unless they will do a Riverdale type spin off will be interesting to see if they digitally replace the young kara in the opening credits

That freaken sucks because i like the old actress that are already on here please keep them others look so weird and SUPERGIRL wont be normal again. Now i cant watch SUPERGIRL no more u just crushed a little girls dream and heart
