Almost 15 years since they last appeared together on the hit \'90s series "Boy Meets World," Rider Strong joined former castmates Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel for a special reunion episode on their hit Disney channel series, "Girl Meets World."
"Girl Meets World" details the lives of the adult characters of former "Boy Meets World" sweethearts Cory, Topanga, and their daughter Riley Matthews, as they navigate parenthood and life as a family in New York City. Cory has become a middle school teacher (Riley is one of his students), while Topanga fulfilled her dream of becoming a lawyer,
The holiday special features the beloved characters as they have a Christmas reunion, titled "Girl Meets Home for the Holidays."
In the episode, a returning Shawn forms a bond with Cory\'s daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard), and sees the similarities in her relationship with her best friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) as parallel to his and Cory\'s relationship throughout the years.
Joining Shawn for the reunion will be Cory\'s parents Amy (Betsy Randle) and Alan Matthews (William Russ), as well as Cory\'s younger brother, Josh (Uriah Shelton).
Strong was asked several months ago by E! Entertainment what he felt the character of Cory would have been up to since the original series ended.
The actor revealed his own interpretation of the trouble Cory could have found himself in. "We\'ve talked about it a little bit. I think he\'s got to be in trouble of some kind and he\'s got to pull Cory into trouble. That\'s definitely the way it\'s going to be because that\'s always how it went."
He continued, "I\'d like to see him happier. I feel like Shawn was destined for tragedy. I mean, gosh, they killed my father, my mother abandoned me, my girlfriend and I broke up at the end of the show. They really just made Shawn\'s life hell. It would be good if he\'s in trouble but in general is happy."
The Christmas episode, "Girl Meets Home For the Holidays," is set to air Dec. 5, at 8 p.m. on the Disney Channel.
