Have you ever been in a natural disaster?

I've been in a hurricane, Hurricane Sandy, but not much damage was done, well, in my town, at least. Only to power went out for me. Have you been in a natural disaster/hurricane?

I've been in an earthquake before, but it was a little one. All that happened was a few things fell over while other things just shook. Something tells me I'm going to be in a very big one sometime in my life, though.

Yeah, you can be in a earthquake RIGHT NOW, but not feel it, since the plates aren't coliding that much. I remembering learning about it, but I forget most of the stuff about it.

Only a few hurricanes in my life time, Hurricane Gloria in 1985, Tropical Storm Irene in 2011 and Tropical Storm Sandy in 2012. and one small tornado in 2010 but the tornado was nowhere near my house just high winds. Gloria knocked our power out for three days, Irene knocked our power out for 16 hours and Sandy, our power only flickered a few times for 2 segundos and we had a blizzard earlier this ano which we had 3 feet of snow but our power was fine.

Earthquake. I was in the 11th grade I think. I remember sitting in English class, reading, then I noticed that the doors were shaking. It was our biggest. It wasn't disastrous just freaky. Everything shook but there wasn't any damage. Apparently there is supposed to be a big one, they won't shut up about it but that rumor has been going on for years. It may or may not happen. No one can say when something that damaging could happen.
