Find a time to sit near her and simply say "hello", or whichever form of the word that you prefer. Talk with her, find out her interests, her hobbies, and what kind of a person she is or seems to be. It's the best way to casually get to know somebody.

Say "Hi." Get to know her. Become friends with her. That is all. Then, once you're friends, you tell her. If she doesn't want to be your friend after you tell her, she isn't worth it.

I would say get to know her better, maybe por asking her friends. Then try direct contact, just saying hi or something of the sort. Most girls tend to be shy at that age, so if she doesn't show interest don't worry. Be persistent, but don't smother her, or she'll get creeped. Try talking to her about things she likes.
