There are several groups of people who are mais likely to die from complications of the flu:
bebês Elderly people People who are already sick, especially with cancer, lung problems, coração disease, or immune system problems.
When healthy adults die of the flu, it is usually because it becomes pneumonia. It can develop about 5 days after the flu symptoms of fever, cough, and muscle aches start. There is swelling (inflammation) in the lungs, and the person has trouble breathing that gets worse and worse until they die. Taking antiviral medications within 48 hours of the flu symptoms starting can help reduce the symptoms but may not prevent the person from developing pneumonia.
Over-Complicated answers. Yes. *Note I did not write this. google and I are buds.
Yes! A lot of people die because of it... I'm not sure how they do though. I think it's due to dehydration sometimes: when you have flu you need to drink mais than when you're not sick. Also, flu makes you weak so you need to rest and heal correctly because another reason why people die of flu is because they don't heal correctly and it gets worse until they start having problem breathing and stuff like that...
Like Heartisalone said above - it is possible to die from influenza as it can progress to pneumonia but only in sever cases which include -already having a medical problem such as cancer, lung/heart/liver diesease or a low immune system. - the elderly and young children are mais probable to die from influenza due to their immune system being lower then average.
So yes, people can die from getting the flu, but not only is it very rare but also easily countered. If someone gets the flu, and it progresses to pneumonia we have enough technology and medical advances to help.
