Animal lovers... Please help.

So, my best friend slept over last night and were really bored today so we went outside to skateboard and all of a sudden we see my neighbors really sweet dog standing outside with drool or what looked like foam coming out of her mouth (I thought it was rabies but I'm not sure)

Then my neighbor came out and said she is gonna put her down cuz she's sick and I said to her "NO! Don't put her down!" I really loved that dog but she came into my garagem and drooled and I think MY dog stepped in it and I'm afraid my dog is gonna get sick too... So, do you know what I should do? Please help..

Thanks.

Rabies is only spread through mating or through getting infected saliva into an open wound. So stepping in the saliva should'nt be a problem, unless your dog licked it's paw. But if your dog is vaccinated against rabies it shouldn't be a problem, but take her to the vet anyways.

If the dog you found has rabies it has to be put down. Rabies doesn't have a cure, and the dog is a hazard to domestic pets, local wildlife and humans as well.

My mom says that rabies also cause the animal to be aggressive and the dog wasn't at all sooo ya. But I think my dog licked it because sh licks everything............ But I'm not sure. And my dog was vaccinated... Thank God!

There are two types of rabies, furious rabies and dumb rabies. Dumb rabies is where the dog sits, looking dumb and has foam dripping from the mouth. Rabies can also cause an animal to change personality. A high spirited dog could become shy and vice versa. Many people think rabies is just "furious rabies" but that is not true.

Do you know the neighbour's dog's personality? It could be excess drool or she could've eaten a toad or something

snusnu13 is completely right.

But first, you need to be positive the other dog has rabies. Maybe it was just overly drooling, and nothing was wrong. About your dog, don't be too worried until you see it actually atuação like it has rabies.

The vet I'd say.

A: your dog could be suffering from rabies, but if it was the dog would be atuação very strange, aggressive and hyper-active. it's probably dehydration. when a dog isnt hydrated enough it can start to pant loudly and get foam at the mouth.

B: certain frogs and toads are toxic to cachorros and they will cause the dog to foam at the mouth.

first off, you don't need to call animal apaixonados because they aren't the only helpers and some of em don't know anything about animals
second, unless your dog had a cut on her paw, he/she won't get whatever that dog had (unless your dog lick his/her paw)
third, what does "I said to her 'NO! Don't put her down!'" have to do with anything -.-
