Where were you on September 11,2001?

how old were you?

I was at school,in my segundo grade classroom so i was 7.I remember my teacher sitting their watching here little tv.and my mom tried to pick me up from school, but for secruity reasons they wouldnt let us out. All i remember is when going to daycare they kept saying, something about a train. So when my mom picked me up,she asked me what happened.i told her that s train crashed.she said "no,planes hit the world trade centers and they collapsed".i really didnt understand at the time.but as years went on and we would have a moment of scilence during school,i understood it was serious.Till this dia i stil read books and watch documenteries on 9/11.I even read books on people who have lost amor ones. Its been 9 years, and i dont think we should forget what happened that day.I think we should still have the moment of silence.Do you still have the moment of silence?
Where were you on September 11,2001?

A party. It was for a birthday party. Kiley was waiting for her father. Who was working at the World Trade Center. He died in it. So she never partied again.

For my best friend Charlie, she was at school with her mom voting. She went início with her and they watched the news. Charlie still thought her father was alive. Jessi, her older sister explained everything and she was depressed until Christmas.

I was in my parents room, watching the crash in fascination. Sorry that the people died, but it's really not THAT big of a deal. Way mais people died in thee Iraq war, and do we have a dia dedicated to them? Noooooooo. And the Iraq war was AMERICAS FAULT. My guess is most people really don't care as much about foreign lives as we do our own, which is sad.

I'm sorry that you feel this way, but I had to comment on your answer. I'm Irish, and had no real connection with the 9/11 attacks. But I still mourn for those people who died and who's lives were affected. It's true we don't have any one dia dedicated to those who died in the Iraq war, but that doesn't mean they aren't remembered. I had no connection with that war either, and yet I still think of those people each night when I pray.

I agree with Emily. Actually Hundreds, or maybe even thousands a dia are killed. And thats mais serious than the tower is, Sorry pl. It was nearly ten years ago, about time to get over it? and mais killing happening every day, and nobody here seems to be sad about that! Exept me, I care about countries where people need HELP, NOT KILLING..

Then the breaking news denunciar came on. I never saw anything about the twin towers, but I saw something about the pentagon. I remember my mom standing up from her chair in an angry fashion and yelled " I ate there! How dare they! " and stormed out of the room. I didn't understand until we didn't have school the seguinte day.

A friend of mine had an uncle that worked there. He was running late that day, and when he looked up at the towers he saw the planes crash into it. His girlfriend worked there as well, but she had an earlier time to get in there than he did and wasn't late, so she died. It must have been hard for him.

I was at school and I was in first class, making me 7 aswell. Actually, I was only six, but almost 7. It was my granny's birthday, so when my dad picked me and my two brothers up from school we went to our local supermercado to buy her a present. We're 5 hours ahead over here, so it was three o' clock when we heard the news. I remember seeing the look on my dad's face, because he had a friend who was working in a building near the trade centre. Luckily he was fine, but it took dad ages to track him down. I couldn't understand why someone would do that, and I remember asking my dad why when we heard the news. He wasn't able to tell me.
For weeks it was the only item on the news, and I remember getting annoyed at it. I didn't understand why people didn't just mover on.
I witnessed that horrific dia from thousands of miles away but it still shaped my world. A few ano later I made friends with a new american boy in our school: his uncle and three of his cousins had been killed on 9/11.
Every ano on the anniversary of that dia I sit and pray for all the people who died and their families.
At 7yrs old I didn't understand, but now I do. I get angry and cynical and depressed when I think about it and watch documentaries on it.
It changed my view on everything. It shaped my world, though I had nothing to do with it.

I was início with my family..We were celebrating my birthday...When we heard the news my mum sad that we should give some respect to those people who died there...And we did it...We have turned down the música and had a minuto of silence...I know that its strange thing to do,specially on your b-day but i was't mad or anything...I know that that dia for me should be full of happiness and joy but even now,9 years later we still do that because i know that there are people who lost their loved ones on that dia and they are suffering...So smallest thing i can do as another human being is to have that minuto of silence and honor ones who died on that day...I am so sorry because this had happened and that those people died that day, because they have deserved to live and to be loved...And now all we can do is honor them and remember them...

I don't remember much of what was going on that day; I was only 6 years old in the first grade. I remember walking in the living room, watching the tv screen with a perplexed look. The only memory I got out of this dia was bombarding my dad with perguntas of what was going on in the news with two planes crashing into two buildings, and exploding. :(

I was tackling my first week at middle school, and i remember being sent to the auditorium then dismissed from school. While i was en route início i remember hearing things on the radio about explosions and building colapses. When i got início mom and my little sisters therapist were watching the televisão with a horrified expression on both faces. later that dia i remember being embraced por a sobbing grandmother, and i also remember seeing a lot of american flags and ribbons making appearances on peoples houses and businesses, and that was the only thing we could discuss at school for weeks.
