How do you guys feel about Emily's mom being anti-gay?

I honestly think that Emily's mom is just as confused as Emily was feeling. Emily was unsure of how her parents were going to take the news and then she was afraid of what they would think (and treat her for that matter). And I think her mother is just not used to the idea yet. I think the mother is debating whether she finds it acceptable....and I think she feels weird because most daughters and mothers have decent relationships. They clearly don't and that probably is bothering the mother because she doesn't understand why Emily wouldn't tell her about the way she is feeling.

I think some people are being a bit too harsh on Emily's mom. Yes she hates it that Emily is gay and I do not agree with her. But, as I believe she is very religious (Christian), Emily, in her opinion, is atuação against her strong beliefs. Emily asking for her mothers agreement, is asking her to throw away what she has believed in for so long.
I feel sad for Emily that her mother is anti-gay and it certainly does not make her life easier, but please try to understand her mom's point of view too, before condemning her.

I think that emilys mother should understand that it is 2011!!! not 1800s and that is no reason to hate gays and its her daughters choice and she should support it!

I think that her mom shouldn't did that to Aria and I think that she should be glad that Aria is dating someone.

I think Emilys mother is such a cadela, puta for being like that. How could you take away your childs happiness. I feel really bad for Emily. She is in amor with Maya and her mother is taking her away but Emily wont stop loving Maya just because her mom does that.

Well, i personally think that emilys mom is a real bitch. i think she shud accept emily for who she is. i amor emily and maya together, i think it is so cute! (:

I hated how her mother reacted. I understand how it came for a shock to her. But she really needed to learn to accept Emily for who she is. Emily is her daughter and she should be there for her. Her getting Maya sent off to that Juvy Camp only made things worse. She handled it in a horrible way and only hurt her daughter.

I think she should realize this is the 21st century and she should understand that only her daughter's happiness matters.
