i think it was because they wanted to be just friends. i think they stayed in touch afterwards tho.
all i know is, he was RAVING NUTS for marrying that mad segundo woman!! she didn't amor him just his wallet!

well, michael wanted kids sooo badly, and when they wernt even married he asked her "will you give me what i want, will you give me children" and she said "yes" so they got married and when that dia came where michael wanted kids she said no. and straight away she broke michaels coração because all that michael wanted was children to have with her, because he loved her so much, but if she really loved him like he loved her, like she said she did, she would of gave him kids and not break his coração because michael didnt deserve that, michael didnt deserve that at all. :(

According to a recent biography on Michael, she divorced for the reasion being he was too immature and she refused to have children with to spite Michael.
