Chester Bennington of Linkin Park thinks the album they’re recording will polarise, and he’s happy about it.

The platinum tantrum-rockers have been in the studio recording the follow-up to last year’s worldwide chart-topper A Thousand Suns.

Singer Chester Bennington spoke UK metal mag Kerrang! about the process over the last two months and he’s happy that they’re pushing the boundaries.

Linkin Park have spent much of the past ano touting the no geral, global insanity of their upcoming A Thousand Suns album (it's a "grandiose insanity," in case you were wondering), and that idea certainly carries over into the first single, an aching slice of synth doomery titled "The Catalyst." It seems that, every step of the way, the band is trying very hard to mover beyond their nu-metal roots.

So it should come as no surprise, too, that the video for "The Catalyst" is a far different animal.

When Linkin Park agreed to let a MySpace user create a new version of one of their songs, “The Catalyst,” they had to know it would be tough to pick a winner. The band weighed all the options, and in the end the winner of the Linkin Park: Featuring You contest is a man who goes por the name “NoBrian,” but is otherwise known as a MySpace user from Poland. As well all know, the long-anticipated album 'Living Things' was released, and it went viral immediately! I, personally, listened to it once before composição literária this article, and WHILE I'm composição literária it, it's playing for the segundo time. As a die-hard fan, I'm going to try to be unbiased. It's going to be difficult, because I happen to like every single Linkin Park song that they release, and am unable to find improvements in them. If I try hard to be a critic, I come up with two or three points, but that's about it. For me, a Linkin Park song can never be bad. It can be 'slightly less-awesome' but...
