I do, in fact, believe Kaneki is alive. I have 3 reasons to why I think this. Reason 1: In the last episode, as Kaneki is carrying away Hide to get help from the CCG, he arrives in front of a man, Amon. The seguinte scene shows Kaneki's face, then white...and that's the end. There is no real evidence that shows Kaneki's death. Reason 2: If you watched the Tokyo Ghoul OVA and researched a bit, you will notice a significant amount of people that say "It's Kaneki! Kaneki went undercover and changed his look, being the first ghoul CCG investigator." Now I know I know "That's only an opinion!" "There isn't real proof!" But there is, the character Haise Sasaki. In the last chapter of Tokyo Ghoul (the manga) the head of CCG says to Arima, to "leave the name to him" and what is he talking about? Well, Kaneki. If you read the manga, you would know that Arima and Kaneki have a fight. This fight ends up with Kaneki losing and "dying." Or so we thought, because Kaneki has white hair after accepting his ghoul side, just ghoul side. He leaves behind his human side. After Ghoul Kaneki dies in the fight, human Kaneki takes over. Kaneki accepts being a "half" ghoul. This is why Haise Sasaki has black and white hair, representing both of Kaneki's sides. Not to mention, they look quite similar. (Sorry that was so long) Reason 3: Now, as we all know from his and Amon's battle, Kaneki gets injured. Hide appears and tells Kaneki that theres about no chance that he could escape, he then apologizes and tells him to fight his hardest. And, as quoted, Hide says in thought "since there is only one way." Kaneki tells himself, as Arima(and yes this is the extended battle in the manga) is on the verge of killing him, that it doesn't matter, none of this matters because he's "going to die." He really did believe Arima would kill him. Arima instead gave Kaneki the opportunity to be part of CCG. And why did Kaneki join? Why did Arima and the investigation want him? Its because, in the very beginning...Kaneki is the experiment. He becomes a half ghoul because of the experiment transplant. He is a half ghoul, because of the Kanou Doctors. The CCG believes that ghouls could be useful for the investigation. This is why they accepted Kaneki, but gave him a new name. Kaneki decided to cadastrar-se because he wanted to be able to protect his friends. As an investigator, Kaneki can kill the "bad" ghouls as well as warn his friends if they are being targeted. *Conclusion* OK, now I know this is a lot to take in. If needed, read it again...but when you put the pieces together, it really does make sense why Kaneki is alive. If you want mais theories on animê please request. It may take some time to find all the information and I might need to watch the animê for a first time or again. But, I'll get to it and show you my thoughts!
