Chapter 2
House slowly made his way out of bed, and through to his kitchen, seeking caffeine.
He had spent a sleepless night, dreaming of her. He wanted her to be with him, to be close to him.
Much as he hated to deny it, he felt lonely without her. Cameron didn’t fulfil him.
He was pulled out of his thoughts por the phone ringing, he had a silent hope that it might be cuddy; just the sound of her voice comforted him, and removed all feeling of pain. “House it’s me pick up”, it was Camerons voice. His coração sank. He wouldn’t answer it. He had no interest in talking to her. It was boring, and held no interest for him. Eventually she took the hint and rang off.
That was it. He couldn’t continue this any further. It was cruel to her, and cruel to himself. He wasn’t happy.
Slowly he made his way into work. He wasn’t in any hurry. He only had one reason to go into work.
As he walked into the building, he saw her. She was standing at the nurse’s station, wearing a low cut stop that displayed her perfect curves. He was por far, the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen.
“Ah Dr Cuddy, lovely morning, shame no men here can enjoy it because they are too engrossed in your cleavage”.
She shot him a glare. He loved winding her up, he always thought she had looked best when she was mad. “ House, there is a charity fundraiser this Friday, and for that last comment, I expect you to be attending, the dress is black tie.” “But muuuum” He whined. “House that’s the end of it, you’re coming, now get to work”. She replied, to signify the end of the conversation.
Damn, he knew he shouldn’t have got on her bad side.
As Cuddy walked back to her office, she was already planning in her head, her outfit, her makeup and her hair for the fundraiser. She also had one other thing on her mind, she had decided to end her and Wilsons relationship today. It was unfair on him, god knows, he may have even got the impression that she wanted to be the 4th Mrs Wilson.
She sat at her desk, still in thought, when there was a knock at her door. Quickly, her mind flashed to House, but was disappointed to see Wilson. “Oh well, this is as good as time as ever” she thought to herself.
“Lisa, has everything been ok the last couple of days? You’ve seemed very distant. I was worried last night when you asked me to leave” Wilson had a concerned look on his face. Her coração sank; this was going to be harder than she had thought. She had to let him down slowly.
“James, I’m fine. But listen, we need to talk, lately I’ve been feeling that we have been growing apart. I do like you, really I do, but im beginning to wonder whether its just as a friend. You’ve been so fantastic to me, and I do care deeply about you, but mais like a brother. You’re one of my best friends, and I don’t want this to effect our friendship. Wilson stood, completely shocked, mouth hanging open. He hadn’t expected that. He opened and closed his mouth several times, but no words could come out.
“Please James, say something” she said, her coração going out to him. “I.. I don’t know what to say….. I was so sure that we were getting closer. I thought our relationship was moving forward. I had no idea you felt this way”.
“I’m so sorry James, but it would be unfair to both of us for me not to end this relationship”. He just stood there. Saying nothing, finally muttering the words “I amor you Lisa, but if that’s what you really think is best, then ok, but know that my feelings will not change”. Slowly he turned around and made his way to the door. Just before he reached for the handle however, he turned around and said quietly “Is there someone else? And tell me the truth, at least give me that”. She paused before answering. She considered lying, but the look on her face gave it away. “Yes, there is someone else” Wilson looked stung, and she suddenly realised what she’d said. “James, I didn’t cheat on you. But you asked for the truth, and I’m giving it to you, there is someone else, and im so sorry I hadn’t told you before now”. Wilson nodded, and exited the room without a word. Cuddy felt terrible, but it needed to be done. She didn’t know whether or not house felt the same, but it was for the best.

House sat in his office, bouncing his tênis ball off the wall, deep in thought. He didn’t notice Cameron enter the room. “House, why didn’t you pick up the phone this morning, or come over to mine last night”?
“Im sorry, but this just isn’t working anymore”. He had been blunt. He thought that if he said it fast, it would minimise the pain, but from the look on her face, he knew he had been wrong. “What, why”? she demanded, he could see the tears forming in her eyes, and felt mais sickened than guilt. Had she not seen the signs, did she honestly think that their relationship was going well? “We’re too different, you try to change me into someone who cares, and who shares his feelings but the truth is, I don’t feel the same way as you do. I never have, and I’m sorry, but I have to end this relationship before you get the wrong impression”. She had tears streaming down her eyes. “You selfish bastard, was I just a booty call? Someone who you thought could ease the pain overnight? Do you have no heart? You push the people who care about you away” she finished, heaving for breath, he had not expected the raw emotion in her breath. “I had never intended for it to get this far, you are far better off with someone like Chase, I’m sorry but that’s the way it is”. She glared at him. All the sadness in her eyes had gone, and had been replaced with anger. “You think that you can treat people like this? You think that you are special, but you’re not. I fell in amor with you because you tell the truth and because you aren’t afraid to speak your mind. Maybe I would be better off with someone like chase, someone who cares about others feelings, if you want this relationship to end then fine, go find yourself another woman, but believe me, the best you could do with your attitude is a hooker who charges $5 an hour”. She stormed out of the room. House sat there. He had never seen her speak like that before. Maybe he had been a bit harsh, but no matter, he was free now, and was determined to find the woman he wanted, although he didn’t have to procurar that far. She was striding towards his office, with a determined look in her beautiful eyes.
