House entered Cuddy’s office, the door being slammed por him. Cuddy didn’t raise her eyes from the file she was leitura since the only person that didn’t knock before entering her office was House.
“What do you want?” She snapped.
“Stacy.” Cuddy raised her eyes. At first she thought House was kidding but then she realized his expression was serious. She was confused, did he still have feelings for her? And why did he come to ask her? Especially since what had been going on the past years. But House maybe was right. People don’t change so he wouldn’t.
“What?” She asked to make sure of what House was stating.
“I want Stacy. We need her.” Cuddy stood up and put the file aside.
“We, sounds a little bit in the plural form.”
“I meant the Psych and me, and you also need her if you don’t want to get sued for killing a patient.” Cuddy step seguinte to her desk, House limped to face her.
“Well we could hire some other lawyer. Besides she won’t die, she just broke her ankle, which you should be right now diagnosing why her bones are suffering from decalcification.” She said grabbing a file to motion House she was leaving.
“She has lupus.” House said stopping Cuddy who already had her hand on the doorknob. Cuddy rolled her eyes and turned around.
“House it’s never lupus and then you don’t need Stacy.” She said turning to see him. He turned around as well.
“I need consent to run tests, especially blood tests. When did we change rolls? You should know that, after all you’re the administrator.” Cuddy didn’t move. She really didn’t care for what he was saying, she just didn’t want Stacy to come.
“She has foster parents.”
“Yeah who left her alone to die. She needs Stacy.” House said stepping closer to her.
“No you need her and this is your way of bringing her back to you but you know what? She gave you a chance and you send her away, I’m not gonna bring her for you. Either you call her and tell her you so desperately need her or either you stop lying and get a lawyer that would really focus in you and not in your big blue dreamy eyes.” Cuddy gestured with her arms. She was really pissed. House had no right to come to her and ask her for that. He knew how she felt, or at least that’s what she thought.
She looked into House’s eyes and let her arms fall to her sides again. She noticed his intentions so she stepped backwards, straight her back and raise her chin. She walked out being the boss as always. House stood there numb. Suddenly the silence was broken.
“She’s jealous.” The Psych said as she opened the door.
“I know that.” House nodded.
“But that was your intention. You were testing her, you really don’t want Stacy back. You want her. “The Psych said walking slowly towards House. Walking had become very difficult. Her broken ankle hasn’t healed and she didn’t have any cane.
“How did you went through the clinic without they noticing you?. Wait your ankle is-“House’s eyes widened against his will. Her ankle was a rotten body part. It must be a hell of pain to walk with it. It needed to get chopped off, he was sure.
“Purple? Yeah I kinda noticed. What you gonna do?” mais than purple it was a gangrenous color, a combination of black, green, red and purple. It was swollen and disgusting.
“Call Stacy”
“You ain’t got her phone number.”
“Now I do.” House said as he took the calling notebook from Cuddy’s desk. He walked seguinte to the Psych and hand her his cane. The Psych smiled but House was too busy thinking of her symptoms and all the things she had said about him. He could only think of Cuddy being jealous.
And she was, she was jealous of what life had done to him. Why could other enjoy life but him? She was jealous of the situation he was through and that other could be happy bit not them. She was jealous of death because it controlled his time on earth and there wasn’t much left.
