Stupid question, but what did were Derek and Meredith doing in the elevator?

if you are talking about the lastest episode, they were so call going on their date. their encontro, data was supposed to be sex in the on call room but bailey was in there. but because Meredith only had a minuto to spare and the room was occupied, Derek decided on something else, they went into the elevator where Meredith thought Derek wanted to have sex there but instead he gave her a fertility shot.

it was made to seem that they were trying to find somewhere to have sex to the audience but in actual fact it was just to have an injection to help her conceive

In last nights episode? Oh, I think Derek wanted to have sex, but u know Bailey and that nurse in all call room. So, went in elevator but Mer said no, so Der just gave her some shot thing that's suposta help her get pregnant.
