New characters, new allegiances and a queen riding a dragon… Why not?

There is still a painstakingly long five months to wait for fans until Game of Thrones returns for its fifth season and the wait is inevitably a hard one to take. After the fourth season ended with so many cliffhangers fans can’t wait to see how many of them unfold in the coming episodes.

Of course, readers of A Song of Ice and Fire already know what is to come. The fifth series will reportedly span the fourth and fifth books (with dollops of new material to keep the book readers guessing akin to the White Walkers reveal of season four) in the epic saga. As such there are many scenes fans of the books can’t wait to see enacted on screens.

Unsurprisingly this list will be laced with spoilers. Do not read ahead unless you have already read the books or else don’t mind everything being spoiled. And everything means everything. This list will only cover scenes which have a high chance of making the fifth season so some won’t make the cut – scenes which will probably feature in subsequent seasons, that is. Aside from the novels, this list will also look at filming reports and spoilers which have been released to try and define exactly how the fifth season will pan out.
