Dakota Johnson finally spoke about what it was like when Charlie Hunnam left
actor\'s decision to bow out of the mega blockbuster film. Johnson\'s candid statement came on
with David Letterman (who is a huge fan of her mom Melanie Griffith). Letterman asked Johnson what it was like when producers had to scramble to replace the first Christian Grey.
"I think...[Hunnam\'s] schedule conflicted," Johnson said. "He was busy." The 25-year-old actress then told Letterman it was a "confusing moment" when he dropped of production.
Jamie Dornan to step into the role. And the rest, as they say, is history. The film became a huge box office hit, earning more than $270 million worldwide in its first week.
"I don\'t think he knew that was gonna happen," she said. "Whoops!" But don\'t fret too much about Hunnam. He\'s still got this year\'s
starring Tom Hiddleston coming up. (I would be excited about that!)
Letterman had a great idea to fix everything. "They should bring back the first guy for the second film," he said. "I bet his schedule has opened up now!"
Sounds great—but what about poor Dornan? I\'m sure he\'d be sorely missed.
