Feminism Pergunta

My qualm with the club's icon.

"the radical notion that women are people, too"? I'm sorry, but for me, "notion" annotates "just an idea" or "just a belief", and if those feminists movements and the fact that we are sprouting great women leaders today show anything is that we ARE human beings with the capablities of any man, and to say that's radical or a notion is just wrong; it's a COMMON KNOWLEDGE! Is there any way we could change this icon?

It's a quote from feminist historian Cheris Kramarae mocking people who disparage feminism.

We could contact the creator of the site, but we'd have to find out who he/she IS first.

As for the icon? Well, i think it has good intentions. I don't think it's purposely offencive, i think it was using irony that somehow this belief IS radical, and saying it shouldn't be.
But i see where your coming from.

My biggest qualm however, would have to be with the banner. I mean, blacks a nice colour and all, but it would be nice to have a mais cheery banner. After all, theres so much we feminists have achieved and so much mais in the near future.

Good point. And there's a banner? I can't see it from my end.

Yep, but its just plain black with nothing else, which i found dissapointing. XD I was hoping to see a arco iris, arco-íris unicorn fighting partiarchal giants with a blade of righteous equality. Alas, no such luck.

You could ask Dave. First, you'll need to have the banner and ícone that you want and some other choices too. Then, you'll have to have people vote which one they want(fan pick). When there's enough votes, he'll put it up. :)

It's said in an ironic way, that in our current overty misogynistic society it *is* a radical idea that women are human.
