Rory and I are sitting on a balanço out the front of Amy’s house. “This is where we used to play. You where there, too... in a way.” He laughs darkly. “Nice. I met her first right... there.” I point over to the crushed shed where we met 15 years ago. I clench my teeth. No. This isn’t like you, Doctor. You can’t be... emotional. I mean, you could, but why drag it along? You have to get over it. But I can’t! It’s like a debate going on inside my head. “So that’s what happened to that shed.” He shakes his head. “We’d better go, before the fabric of time its self collapses, eh?” I try to sound bright, but fail. I want to be my usual enthusiastic self, but I can’t. “Um, Doctor?” Rory stays seated. “Yes? What’s wrong, Mate?” I ask. I know what’s coming. No. Please. “I think I'll stay.” There it is. “Oh. That’s perfectly... understandable. I'll see you again... maybe.” I hug him, a short, brief embrace, and a pat on the back. I turn to walk away. “Oh, and Rory?” I say before going. “Yes?” He answers. “I’m sorry.”
I walk into the Tardis, slowly, dragging my feet. I sigh heavily. “Maybe I could try to forget.” I say to myself. I pull the lever down. “Oh!” I yell, shocked. I hear a thump. “What could that be, hey?” I reach for my sonic and point it in front of me, knight in shining armour style. Another thump thunders around. My breathing gets faster. I scuttle silently through the corridor, back against the wall, James Bond style. Another thump. I brace myself and jump out from the wall. There’s Amy, holding her head, groggily trying to stumble around. I scream. “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” I scream. “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” She screams. This goes on for around 3 minutos until we pull ourselves together. “Amy?!” I yell, and thump into her, hugging her so tight she can’t breathe. “Doctor? What happened? Can’t... breathe...” She laughs. “You got shot! But you’re alive!” I hold onto her, breathing in her morango scented smell. “Shot?! But por who?” She yells. “Well... it was... um, River. River Song.” She gasps. “I remember it now! Jacks... gun... it was so dark, and it was raining...” She stops. “Where’s Rory?” She asks, looking around me. “Oh... well, you see... we thought... well, we thought you were, you know... gone.” She gasps. “Oh!” Then I remember. “Oh my god.” I turn away. “Doctor? What is it?” She asks quizzically. “You don’t... remember anything else I said, do you?” I’m remembering the things I told her. “Um... none that I can think of. Why? What did you say?” Her eyes narrow. “Oh, nothing... necessarily bad, just... a bit... problem causing if you remember.” If you remember me saying I amor you. I don’t say that last bit out loud, of course. “What did you say? And where’s Rory?” She looks around. “Remember, you were dead to us.” I say, chuckling hardly. “So... he’s... gone?” Tears well in her eyes. “He’s at home. He wanted to forget it ever happened. He’s with you on the twenty sixth of June, nineteen ninety six. He’s going to stop you meeting me.” Tears well in my eyes, and hers spill over, and she starts yelling. “WHAT?! BUT... YOU’RE MY BEST FRIEND! I’M GOING TO FORGET YOU! I’M GOING TO LOSE YOU, MY BEST FRIEND! YOU’RE MY RAGGEDY DOCTOR!” She screams, and I hold her in my arms. We sit down, and we hold each other, me with my eyes closed, trying not to cry, while she sobs into my shoulder. “I don’t want you to go either, Amy. But it’s what’s best. You’ll have a long, happy life with Rory, without any interference from me. You won’t need your imaginary friend anymore.” My voice cracks. “But... I want interference! I want my imaginary friend! I WANT YOU!” She yells, tears streaming down her face. I hold her face between my hands. “It’s going to be ok. This has happened. You have forgotten me. But you won’t be able to remember me this time. You can only remember me if you...” I look away. “If I? If I WHAT, Doctor?!” She says hysterically. “You can only remember me if you hear someone say my last words to you. Rory will remember me, but he swore that he wouldn’t tell, if you weren’t actually dead. I said I’d do this.” I say, a tear streaking down my cheek, blowing my cover. “Why would Rory do that?” She cries. I grab her por the waist. “Because of this.” I kiss her then, and I can hear her coração rate getting faster, and she grabs my face in her hands and kisses back. Her fingers entwine in my hair, and we kiss like we need to, urgently, roughly, but full of feeling. After for what felt like years, we pull apart, our hair ruffled, our cheeks pink. “Doctor, I want you to know something. I'll always amor you, even though I won’t know you.” A tear rolls down her cheek. “I'll always amor you too. But you have to amor Rory.” I say, hugging her tightly. “Never forget, Doctor. You are the biggest thing in my life. There must be another way.” She whispers. “I promise you, I'll never forget you, Pond. You won’t remember me. Unless someone hears these last words. You won’t remember any of the adventures we had. I'll never forget, Pond. ” I say, as she Amy flashes a ghostly white, her body materializing. “I don’t want to go.” She says. Déjà vu for my last words in my latest regeneration... “No.” I whisper. But she’s already gone. I sit down, staring into space. I pull myself together, and pull down on the Tardis’s console’s lever. “Goodbye, Pond.” I whisper to myself.
