	rhythmicmagic picked mulan: I LOVE HER! She's brave, loyal, selfless, and kind, but also bitter, vindictive, unmotivated, and can have a tendency to make a martyr of herself. She goes to the war and fights for her family, but wasn't interested in the matchmaker and family honor enough to memorize one short paragraph. She is extremely smart and can find split-second solutions to extremely tight binds, but she doesn't think things entirely through and doesn't put effort into learning. She has a ton of talent and ability, but needs someone else to push her for it to be realized. She moves on in situations, but also is self-pitying in Reflection and because she can't measure up (though she didn't put the effort in.) She doesn't fit into the mold, Mulan simply is. She doesn't have the most exciting or scintillating personality, but she has a heart of gold and those who say she has little or undeveloped personality clearly weren't paying close enough attention. I will give you that it is slightly underdeveloped, but that's sort of the point. Mulan isn't really sure who she is herself, but she is at the core a wonderful person who will give anything for those she loves. posted over a year ago.

Anyhow, I love Ariel for being imaginative, proactive and standing up for what she belives despite the misguided prejudices of the society or her own father. Challenging people you have no bonds or emotional connections with is admirable but it's even more poignant to be able to challenge someone close to you and expose them to new perspectives and make them reconsider their outlooks. posted over a year ago.

	AudreyFreak picked Snow White: I wish I could choose Cinderella and Aurora as well... my love for them typically comes behind Snow, and they fight for second place a lot, but Aurora usually wins. They're each such great role models and have more to their personalities than people think. They are all emotionally strong, a kind of strength you can't just see at first glance like with Pocahontas or Mulan. It's in their attitudes and reactions to bad situations. Snow White is famous for her optimism, and rightfully so. She knows it will turn out OK, and though her desire to see the good in people is her downfall, she is still wonderful for it, and hasn't one ounce of meanness or bitterness in her, despite her years of abuse and near murder. Even while she's outspoken and bossy, she is polite and teasing about it. Cinderella... gee, do I even need to explain why? She gets abused like Snow and though you can tell her stoic cheerfulness is masking some pain, she doesn't ever, ever sink to her step-family's level and treat them like they treat her. That takes a LOT of strength and patience, and I mean a lot. I can hardly remember to not get impatient with my dad when he interrupts me(which is a lot...) but she can handle abuse and rudeness like a pro. And she is by far one of the most realistic characters. She does get annoyed, frustrated and sad, she's just good at hiding it. Aurora- so misunderstood, she too has a lot of strength. Like I said in my article, most people would never want to accept a throne to rule a people they never knew, on top of that having to marry someone they didn't know, but Aurora does it anyway. We can't tell her true motivation but it was still the right thing to do- the hardest thing to do. She also keeps a good attitude though she's obviously a little lonely and probably feels a bit suffocated from never having to know anyone but the animals and her aunts for 16 years. I also think Tia is a good heroine, but I can see why people wouldn't like her. Rapunzel has a cute personality too. posted over a year ago.
