Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante Movie Review!
Hi everyone! I stumbled upon the disney Princess page while I was leitura movie reviews for Frozen. I absolutely amor disney and enjoyed leitura the artigos posted por other members, and I wanted to write my opinion on how Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante compares to the other disney Princess films, its faults, and where it succeeds.
I broke the review up into 3 sections: Music, Story & Characters.
Music
Unfortunately, like Princess and the Frog, I believe Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante only really had one stand out song (“Let it Go”), the rest weren’t particularly enjoyable or memorable. “In Summer” and “Fixer Upper” were like “Under the Sea” or “Be Our Guest” in the way that they didn’t do much to advance the plot. The difference is that the latter songs stand the test of time, while the Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante songs just seemed like filler. I found “First time in forever” a lyrically weak song (“The window is open, so is that door!”) where she is just narrating pointless things (although it was humorous latter on)., “Love is an open door” (the song between the amor interests) doesn’t compare with songs like “Whole New World” or “I See the Light” but I did find it catchy and enjoyable and I loved the Princes’ voice. Of the newer films (Tangled, Princess and the Frog, and Frozen), I think enrolados had the best songs overall, but Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante had the single best song of all of them with “Let It Go”. Idina Menzel has such a unique and powerful voice that is very distinct and different from all the other disney princesses which is something I really appreciate. I believe “Let It Go” is emotionally powerful and possibly the best Princess song since “Part of Your World”.
Characters
While I liked the characters, it was pretty clear that disney was trying to replicate the success of enrolados por borrowing archetypes. Kristoff, the mountain man, was unlike anyone Anna had met before. He didn’t seem to care much for her or what anyone thought of him. He didn’t have any friends and was an orphan. He found himself obligated to go on a journey with Anna, and while at first he couldn’t care less about her and wanted to get rid of her, he eventually grew to amor her. The problem is that story has been done before and done better, in Tangled. Anna herself resembled Rapunzel in many ways. From being trapped in her castelo and longing to leave, to her innocence and the way she acts, to her looks – she was mais similar to Rapunzel then she was to her sister, Elsa. Anna was incredible immature at the beginning of the film – she falls in amor quickly, and even leaves someone she just met in charge of the castelo – but I do not hold this against her, because she showed incredible character growth over the film. It was almost as if she was an old fashioned disney princess making the transition into a new aged one. Elsa in my opinion is the strongest, most original character in Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante and one of my favorito princesses. The powers Elsa has could easily corrupt her, but they don’t, because of her strong moral character. She obeys her parents (unlike most disney princesses) and conceals them from everyone, including Anna, and is willing to live a life alone and isolated just so she cannot hurt anyone. She makes the hard choice, and chooses to hurt herself before she hurts others. She is called a monster and ridiculed, and unlike any other princess, she does not have a prince, which I think is very refreshing and goes to show that you don’t need to get a guy to have a happy ending. Elsa’s happy ending is family and overcoming her disability, and as a Queen, she goes on to rule the Kingdom. Elsa is an incredibly strong character and definitely one of the better role modelos for young girls. Olaf is the comic relief and does a surprisingly good job! I thought he was going to be somewhat annoying from the trailers, but he was a very funny, lovable character who actually had most of the laughs in the film. Lastly, the villain. Without giving away anything, I found the villain in the story to be weak and underdeveloped, probably the most forgettable of any of the villains in the disney Princess films, although it does somewhat make sense as Elsa’s powers act as an obstacle themselves.
Overall, I loved Elsa, and while I did like the other characters as well, they couldn’t help but feel recycled or forgettable.
Story/Themes
Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante is a nice mixture of action, adventure, humor and song, and although it slows a bit in parts, it is still very enjoyable. Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante has many of the classic disney moral’s, like that it’s important to be true to yourself, anyone can be a hero, and not to judge people por appearances. The ideal central to many disney movies, that amor conquers all, is present in Frozen, but it is portrayed in a refreshingly original way. The theme of the struggle between intimacy and isolation is explored beautifully through Elsa and Kristoff’s stories. It is hard to get to in depth with themes and story without giving things away, so I will just say that I did find it enjoyable. While not my favorito disney Princess film, it is certainly not my least favorite, and I believe it will stand up fairly well to repeat viewings. The animation and 3D, while not as sentimental and warm as 2D, was absolutely beautiful. You could watch this movie will the sound off and still enjoy it.
In conclusion, Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante was a great film and didn’t disappoint – it’s simply not as great as others in the canhão and has a few faults, mainly due to disney borrowing elements from enrolados and attempting to recreate its success. I may make a direct comparison artigo between enrolados and Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante latter, if you’d be interested in leitura that or something else, let me know! I just joined fanpop and am looking progressivo, para a frente to composição literária and leitura mais articles!! Feel free to share your opinion (good or bad) on this one below!
