Well, yes, in some way it IS hypocritical, but that is a pretty simplified way to look at it, if you know what I mean. I'll use an example. A) A group of girls are walking through a mall and see a guy they consider 'hot', so they giggle loudly and comment about his abs, butt and other physical traits. Generally, this is seen as acceptable por the younger generation. B) A group of guys are walking through a mall and see a girl they consider 'hot', so they make comments about her breasts, butt and other physical traits they consider appealing. Pretty often, this is labelled as the guys being perverts, chauvinistic pigs and other nasty terms. Point being, I just consider it as stereotyping, as far as my above examples can show. It can also show prejudice against certain races, genders and sexual orientations. So, it's not just being hypocritical, which is a very basic part of it, but often a culmination of these above points as well. In fact, I'd say that 'hypocritical' wouldn't even apply in certain situations. For example, treating a 'black' man differently to a 'white' man would also be an example of double standards, if, say, a certain comprar would allow white people to comprar there, but no black people, as they would do in America throughout a large chunk of the 1900's. So, yeah, that's basically how I feel about the issue.
