Yes, your point? Abuse happens all the time in the world, of course it would be mentioned.

Yes, it's an obvious theme in the book. A lot of books have this theme. Meyer didn't glamorize abuse. Bella felt unhappy when Edward effected her emotions. She was annoyed with him whenever he controlled her physically to stop her from doing something. Jacob was unhappy when Bella used her amor for Edward against him. Rosalie died after being abused. Esme killed herself because she was abused Sam felt guilty every time he looked at his fiancee's scarred face. Meyer doesn't make abuse look like a good thing.

and Emily. don't forget Emily. Leah too. You're right. Meyer takes these things too lightly. what implications did Rosalie's rape had on her character? I didn't see any. It was like, Rosalie just needed a back-story, so Meyer threw in the rape thing. And also don't forget Edward and Jacob's utter disregard for Bella's own free will. (no that should be Meyer's utter disregard for free will) and every time they make Bella feel guilty about things that she shouldn't feel guilty about.. and Bella's passive acceptance of all of these. ugh. so yeah. you're not the only one who notices.

Yeah. I know abuse happens all the time, but seriously. Little kids read this too. And they glamourize the whole abuse thing. Emily was attacked por Same, but she still stays with him. Same with the Bella/Edward/Jacob thing.

Are you trying to say this is a bad thing? It's normal for books to have themes.
