First of all the 1st book in the very begining can be a little confusing and even boring, but if you stick with it you won't be sorry!!!

segundo you should know that eragon isn't Garrow's son in case that was a little confusing Garrow is only his uncle.

Which means that Roran is his cousin, at first I thought that Roran was his brother so the confusion there is easier!
4:
Make sure that you have fun while leitura it!! I would go into mais detail with a lot mais steps, but I don't want to spoil it for those of you who are just starting the series...
