Statement of Intent: If you read to the end, you'll notice that I do not advocate against leitura Twilight, just putting it into context for young readers. This was originally written for a facebook audience of friends until I decided to post it here as well. It was not intended to offend Twilight fãs or readers, but to simply give a little perspective on why I believe Edward Cullen is a poor character to respect/admire. Should there be enough popular demand, I'm willing to write a similar artigo about Bella Swan.

Last ano I put together a list of books that I read coupled with my opinions on them, using my reviews from good reads. I decided to keep it going.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (Smoke and Shadow #3)

Any how 10/10 *was satisfied with the amount of Azula*
As always, I really enjoyed the comic as a whole, I really liked this story line. The whole fear based theme and the Kemurikage were wonderful. I'd really amor to know mais about those ladies.

 Bram Stoker's 'Dracula'
Bram Stoker's 'Dracula'
Vampires – just because some of them sparkle doesn’t mean there’re all bad.

The Classical Vampire
The first vampire to appear in fictional literature was created por the British author John William Polidori in his book ‘The Vampyre’. After this came the rather long short story ‘Carmilla’ por Sheridan Le Fanu. But it was a work inspired por these two stories that remains the greatest vampire story to this dia – Bram Stoker’s ’Dracula’. ’Dracula’, which was published in 1897, started a Vampire craze the hasn’t ceased yet. It is in this novel that we find the original,...

Preface

“Okay honey, it’s your first time on a plane!” my mother cooed me. I was five then so I didn’t hate it entirely. “I’m ready Mommy!” I said. We sat in section… 1A and 1B.
My mother was overly excited for the both of us because it was also her first time on a plane.
After takeoff, my mother spotted San Diego, which was the wrong direction. We were going to visit my grandparents in Michigan. It felt like the plane was dropping all of a sudden.
“Mommy, are we going to land now?” I asked. “I’m going to go talk to the pilot honey. I’ll be right back.” My mother...

This is a common phrase/question that people employ when asking us booksellers for suggestions for their friends and family. "Well, he/she loved so-and-so...what else is like that" In fact, that is very helpful when trying to recommend books, knowing other books & authors that they like.

But sometimes one can get stuck in a rut and cannot come up with a wide selection of suggestions. Let's help each other find new books based on books we already enjoy. Adult, young adult, whatever you like!

Here are some Specific Titles that might prompt some suggestions:

-If you liked Harry Potter, you'll...

 Marie on Oprah
Marie on Oprah
30 years after Marie Osmond married, then divorced Stephen Craig, she married him again. Some might say the woman is a glutton for punishment or she never got over the man she truly loved.

Today, Osmond says she’s happier the segundo time around, and is grateful for the way her husband treats her.

According to press reports, Osmond’s segundo marriage to música producer Brian Blosil wasn’t blissful por any means.

Globe Magazine reported that despite enduring terrible (emotional) pain, Marie never publicly detailed the humiliation she endured during her 20-year segundo marriage to the record producer....

Author Randy Jernigan and Jackson
When I sat down to jantar at a small Asian bistro, bistrô with my old friend and writer Randy Jernigan, he quickly scanned the menu, searching for the healthiest foods. Today would not be one of his famous “cheat days” he shares on his social media pages–usually Mondays when he and best friend, Jackson Fackrell, indulge in what he terms a “free meal.” Today he opts for several veggie heavy dishes with less calories, and of course, minus the fried arroz and noodles. Later, as the waitress cleared the table, I notice that she cleared away his half eaten meal.

At the time I remembered our last...

Who Am I?
By: Gabriela Acosta

Chapter 1
“How would you describe me Lilly?” I asked.
“Paula, you’re a very smart and unique person. But also mysterious. In a good way.” She replied.
“How am I mysterious? I mean, I never thought of myself that way.”
“Because you’re always so quiet around people. Not around me, of course. It’s like you shut yourself down completely, like you don’t want them to know who you are.”
“But you know I’m very shy! Besides, I’m not very good at socializing, you know? I always make myself sound like a total freak!
“Hey, you asked for my...

For a lot of people with chronic disease, the inability to work is a difficult and frustrating reality. Contrary to common misconceptions that not working must be "nice." Or must be like taking an "extended vacation," the lack of a job for medical reasons can have significant consequences on a person's sense if identity--not to mentions finances and interpersonal relationships.

Writer Randy Jernigan recently shed some light on this reality while he was a guest on Donny Max's 'Lets Talk About It' radio program out of Seattle. Randy, who has been diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure, Chronic...

Michael Talbot

Michael Talbot has woven a tale of the vampire unlike any you have read. He places them historically in the development of the human race, identifying them as artists, popes, collectors and inventors. He depicts them as the curators of all things important to human kind. It is the way they obtain those things worth protecting that is the meat of his book, The Delicate Dependency. Set in Londres at the turn of the century, a kidnapping of a child occurs which sends her father and a renowned vampire hunter on a chase all over Europe. The father is a physician who has...

"I still get nightmares," begins Johnny Truant, editor of House of Leaves ("House," por the way, always colored in blue). He goes on to explain how he stumbled upon the fateful document that would consume him. How Zampanò, an old and eccentric shut-in had left his critique of the Navidson Record scribbled on loose-leaf papers, book covers, and the backs of envelopes and even stamps scattered across his room. Johnny diligently collected all of the papers and organized them into the comprehensive thesis it was meant to be. It is an elaborate and detailed explanation of a documentary that, Johnny...

“Sarah,” he says, softly, almost hesitantly, and my coração slam bangs, beating hard, and this is what it’s like to want someone you can’t have. To want someone you shouldn’t even be looking at.
Sarah is in quite the predicament. She’s riding that rollercoaster of first amor – the...
