In what order should I read The Lord of the Rings?

I'm a little confused, what order are the books supposed to be read, including The Hobbit? And what are the titles?

The Lord of the Rings should be read as 'The Fellowship of the Ring' , 'The Two Towers', and 'The Return of the King'. The Hobbit can be read either after or before the series.

I would read The Hobbit first (that's what I did) because it takes place about 50 years before The Lord of the Rings. Also LotR has some things in it that reference The Hobbit. After that the order it The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King. Happy Reading!
