What is the difference between a superhero and a hero? For example: batman is called a superhero. But he has no superpowers. The only common thing that he has with most superheroes, it that he wears a mask and a costume. So why call him a superhero?

Well, he is a super hero because he is the peak of human ability. It says so in the batman RIP comic book that he is litterally the strongest normal human on earth, and that he is at the physical and mental peak of any person on earth. (Except Bane and Killer Croc, or clayface, but they all have different afflictions with their strength ie: Venom, Genetic disorders etc) He is a super- hero because he was able to make himself the perfect human, without drugs or genetics being involved.

He doesn't have superpowers, but he does amazing task on a daily basis. He may not have special abilities, but he has trained himself to be mais than a common human being...

You're right in your observations. But, if you think about it, you can classify him as a super if you wanted. Here are only a few superhero types and which supers fall into the categories:

1. Flying Hero; can fly: Superman, Wonder Woman, Hawkman
2. Strong Hero; has ultimate strength: Superman, the Incredible Hulk, The Thing (from the Fantastic Four), Wonder Woman.
3. Gadget Hero; uses gadgetry like segundo limbs or superpowers: Batman, Inspector Gadget, Robin
4. Magical Hero; has magic: Hawkman, that one girl who says the word backwards and then it happens, etc.
5. Elemental hero; can control the elements: Firestorm -I think fire, Storm - Weather (from the X-Men, sorry I'm mixing DC with Marvel, but I'm only doing it to illustrate a point), Poison Ivy - Earth, etc.
6. Mental Hero; can control people with their minds: Faith from the Justice League, Saturn Girl from The Legion of Superheroes, and a few others I can't remember at the moment.

batman is a "Gadget Hero." His gadgets make up for his lack of powers. See? You can still call him super if you wanted.

May I reccomend the book"Batman and Philosophy"?(It seriously exists!) I think that it will answer any quetions dealing with the dark knight...

Because a hero helps people or saves them from a small danger.Batman is a superhero but he saves people from even bigger danger almost everyday and of course a hero doesn't have super gadgets or anything like that.After all,sometimes batman saves Gotham from crazy maniacs.

A hero is one who goes into a situation knowing he/she could die trying to save another. A superhero is one who gives his/her life to save another.

well at least he wear suits, have cool stuff, can do some karate, have side-kick, have cool car, rich, popular/an idol, and a little nuts.....because before batman is known as a hero. everyone afraid to him and taught he was a knuckle head/maniac/sicko that want to be popular like joker
