Colin says we will be very, very pleased. Colin wouldn't lie to us, would he?

Kbrand, I would hope Colin wouldn't mislead the fans, but keep in mind that as an actor, his job is to sell the product (Merlin), he will do what he has to do to sell it. If you would recall, the actors knew that there would not be a season 6, but they played the game of keeping fans hope up for it until it was formally announced by bbc that S5 would be the last. After the announcement both Bradley and Colin admitted they knew S5 would be the last.

Last night I had a conversation with a friend who is a fellow merlin and Harry Potter fan, she seems to think that the show runners might be going the Harry Potter route. In Potter Harry, Harry had to die for them to get a chance to kill Voldermont, but harry did not stay dead, he came back and fulfilled the prophesy, and killed voldermont. She thinks that something similar will happen in Merlin. The "I don't trust the show runners" part of me thinks that she is giving the show runners too much credit, but the logical part of me thinks she might be right. Logically the only way for both Arthur's death prophesy, and the creation of a unified Albion prophesy to occur is for a Potter twist. The battle of Camlann takes place, Albion is taking a beating from Morgana and the saxons, a number of the rulers of Albion are killed, Arthur is wounded, near death, when Merlin turns the odds using magic. Arthur is healed, or brought back from the dead, he realizes what occurred, and that not all magic is bad. As one of the last surviving rulers of Albion, Arthur unites the land, and lifts the ban on magic. With his queen, and wizard by his side, Arthur fulfills the prophesy of creating this great utopia. That would be my happy ending for this show. I guess we will find out on Christmas eve.

P.S. I am putting out here a global request for a PM from whomever is able to watch series finale live, please let me know whether to watch it asap , which would mean happy ending for A,G, M or wait until after Christmas which means it didn't end well.

Valid points, but stating his opinion about something is different than dancing around something you're not supposed to divulge. If he said something like, "I think the fans will be pleased," or "The show wraps up quite nicely," that would be one thing. But to qualify it with 2 "verys" gives me a little hope.

Trust me, I am not looking at this through rose-colored glasses at all. I am still extremely nervous that they'll f*ck it all up and give us the collective shaft.

I agree with your summation , I think Arthur is seriously wounded and in that state, between life and death he is somehow sent to Avalon where he is healed and sent back, being told that his mission in life has not been completed, the kingdom of Albion still has to come, and the journey of Arthur, Merlin and Guinevere, and The Knights of The Round Table will begin. Now they will leave youth behind and start adulthood, as we know them from the legends. It would be a good ending if TPTB were smart.

Morgana looks rough in those pictures! It's like the before and after drug pictures. You on evil magic!

I believe they will do a twist with it and it could very well be what Lucerne28 said about Harry Potter. Harry Potter died and then having completed the prophecy returned. And the very same thing could happen with Arthur.

Like Kim pointed out Colin used two verys and while they do like to be positive to the fans, I do think there is a difference between promoting and genuinely being pleased with something. Angel also said that she believed that shows should end with a bang and leaving fans wanting more. So I do think that its possible there may be a reincarnation or Arthur manages to die and return again so he can restore magic and unite the kingdoms.
