Zutara vs. Kataang Respostas

I haven't cussed at you if you're talking about me. Or are you talking about the other sites? The most I do is respond stating my opinion. And I don't aim to make you feel bad when doing so. So if I do offend you, give me a heads up, I'll stop (half the time I don't even realize I offended anyone) so please don't instantly "OMG ur so mean and rude" or get a bunch of people to come yell at me. Just talk to me. And that request wasn't targeted towards you it was just in general to any Zutarian/Kataanger here. Odds are we don't mean to offend each other. Secondly whilst you have one person cussing at you I feel a bit disrespected too, as whenever I post anything pro-kataang I have at least 3 people yelling at me saying you're wrong or KATAANG SUCKS!!! And it's all at once. I always feel like I'm fighting 3 against one and it's really kind of unfair and hurtful. Once again I'm not trying to hate on you or anyone in particular.

The reasons I think it gets so out of hand are;
- People here have strong opinions and they take them too far or too seriously, that's a problem I've seen with the fandom (and a lot of other fandoms) as a whole.
- On the other end of the spectrum there are people who don't take opinions outside their own seriously enough. They feel that their opinion is the right one and don't even try to see it the other way around. They confuse opinion with fact.
- Then there are those who just don't respect others' opinions. It takes one person to respond to a comment like 'Kataang/Zutara is so cool' with a comment like "No Kataang/Zutara is stupid" to start a giant fight. Usually after one insult flies the other rebuttals with "No, *opposing side* is stupid". All I have to say for this one is please everyone kataanger or zutarian don't call the other side names, it doesn't help prove your point, if anything it makes the opposing side less likely to agree.
- Another biggy, common for anything typed on the net is false assumptions or misinterpretations. Something like what I typed in the first paragraph can be interpreted as an insult when really I was just meaning to make a statement we can talk about. I hope you don't mind me using our expirance as an example. Another example is that when I was debating with prettybender one of her friends thought I was picking on her and started yelling at me. It got messy because he/she thought I was trying to bully her even though I only meant for a mature debate. That would be an example of both false assumption and misinterpretation. A great example of misinterpretation is some one typing 'I think Kataang/Zutara is better because *long list of reasons*.' While the person may have intended to come off as calm and sophisticated one can interpret it as a barco load of sassy and know it allish. An example of false assumption would be 'she/he hates me because I'm a Kataanger/Zutarian.
- Which leads me to another huge one; People here often take things too personally. I'm guilty of it too.

If someone responds to your post saying 'I disagree because:' odds are they aren't trying to attack you or hurt your feelings, they just want a friendly debate, as that's what this spot is for. Or another example is prettybender said something about Kataangers needing to jump off a cliff. I got upset because I thought she was telling me to kill myself and snapped at her. And then it escalated. (Once again hope you don't mind me using that as an example). - Which leads to, be careful what you type and how you type it. As stated above it can be easily misinterpreted. And I don't mean to sound like a smart butt over here, but my conselhos is; if you aim for a certain tone (nice, calm, cheerful) try to find a way to state that prior to your statement. It really helps, so long as people actually read what you typed. - And finally make sure to read and fully understand what the other person typed. One missed word or sentence can lead you to think the person is trying to be mean to you. So those are the problems I see a lot. As for some of your other statements, thank you for saying everyone needs to be nicer and not just pointing the finger at the opposing fandom. Placing the blame also makes people upset. I agree, forgive and forget. I'm game for that I'm nice to anyone who's nice to me and I'm really quick to accept apologies and give them when called for, but the fandom as a whole needs to work with us. It only takes one to start a rift again. I don't see much cussing on this site, but the name calling needs to stop. Indeed, we are all a part of the same avatar fandom and peoples of the same fandom should treat each other kindly.

Yup! I try to keep in mind there is someone on the other side of the screen, whether they are who they claim to be or not, okay thanks for the tip about dA. do you have an account? Just wondering...Anyways yeah when people call me sh*t or a dumb a$$ I have a problem with that. I've decided to ignore them as a whole and just ex out there messages and what not.
