Zayn Malik’s departure from One Direction’s tour has sent the group’s fans into meltdown mode. Thankfully, his mom has now spoken up to help alleviate the problem. Trisha Malik decided to address the media at her home today to help clear up some of the rumors.

She claims that her son is doing fine and that she has spoken to him (via Mirror).

“I have spoken to him and he’s fine. We have been in contact,” she said.

Media and fans can’t help but wonder what Zayn will be doing on his break from the tour, or even where he’ll be staying. Unfortunately, she didn’t give many details in regards to that.

“I can’t say where he is going to go,” she added.

This comes after Zayn Malik announced that he’d be taking a break from One Direction’s tour. Specifically, he’ll be missing out on their group’s final three shows on the Asian leg of their tour, which includes Manila, and Jakarta. The singer cited stress as the reason he’ll be taking a break and a spokesperson spoke on his behalf.

“Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta,” the statement read.

Although it hasn’t been revealed what has exactly caused his stress, it’s probably safe to say that it is partially related to cheating allegations that surfaced on Tuesday when photos of him holding hands with another female on Phuket was released.

Zayn has already denied the cheating allegations, but perhaps the rumors were too much for him to handle.

“I’m 22 years old… I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there’s a lot of jealous f***s in this world I’m sorry for what it looks like x,” he tweeted about the allegations shortly before announcing his tour departure.

The drama goes even further than this. In addition to the cheating allegations, Zayn and bandmate Louis Tomlinson were reportedly required to pay $5000 each by The Philippine Bureau of Immigration before entering the country. If caught using drugs, the pair would forfeit their money.

This is in relation to a leaked video of the two smoking suspicious hand rolled cigarettes that surfaced last year.

Zayn will likely re-join the group for their shows in South Africa.
