Becca peered around the rocks. She spotted Jade and Kaldur sitting on the de praia, praia and pulled back. She took a deep breath, trying to still the rapid beating of her heart. Things were never going to be the same after today. Tears threatened to spill over her eyelids and she leaned her head back against the rocks. Sitting in the sand, waiting to comfort her friend had been at the bottom of her list. But Jade had pulled all the stops out to make sure Becca was there. So now she was just waiting to comfort. Her vibrating phone broke into her thoughts and she looked down. A text message.
M: Bored outta my mind. Can I visit you?
B: Sure! I'd amor to see you! <3
M: LOL! Kay. Jumping on seguinte plane to Gotham. Meet you there.
B You know it!
Becca's thoughts were turned back to the task at hand when Kaldur walked past her wordlessly. Becca turned and stood. Jade was kneeling on the beach, hands over her face. Becca went over to her, immediately hugging her.
“Becca...I hate myself...!”
“Jade! Don't!”
“Well if I wasn't me then-”
“Then Kaldur never would have loved you and you'd be breaking somebody else's heart.”
“...do you know what it's like to loose someone you love?!”
“I do Jade. And I know it hurts. But you can't help it. You have a duty.”
“Ugh! Why does everyone tell me that?!” Jade stood and walked away, kicking sand and shells around in her anger. “I know about my job! I've done it for eleven years! What I want to know is why I keep loosing people I love!”
“Jade! Stand down!”
The sharp tone of Becca's voice brought Jade back down to Earth and she shook her head in regret.
“I'm sorry Becca. I just hurt.”
“I understand. But keep your temper.”
“I guess this is it? I'll never see you again?”
“I don't know. But no matter what happens Jade, I amor you.”
“I amor you too!”
Jade went back to Becca's embrace and cried her tears until she was granted with a huge headache.
“Oh my head.”
“C'mon. We'll go get something for that back at the mountain.”

“Hey Rob? What's with Kaldur? He's quieter than usual.”
Robin shook his head at Wally. The speedster was his best friend but could be so oblivious sometimes.
“Jade,” Robin answered.
“Whoa! Did they have their first fight?!”
“No Wally. Jade is part of the Green Lantern Corps. She's related to Hal Jordan the Green Lantern.”
“Okay. I knew that.”
Robin sighed. Wally could be so clueless.
“And since Jade is a part of that, she has to leave Earth for another planet thousands of planets away. She had to break up with him.”
“Oh! I feel bad for the guy. Jade brought the best out of him. I'd be really upset if I lost Willow.”
Robin imply smiled sadly and shook his head. Wally was always caring. But it was always in an egotistical way. He somehow managed to be sympathetic AND bring himself into the conversation. Maybe it was a subconscious thing. Determined to figure it out, Robin went back to hacking.
