She was in the third bed, sitting up propped on her good elbow, the other arm in a funda, estilingue resting on her chest. She gave a faint smile as he approached the only occupied infirmary bed, her soft turquoise eyes meeting his icy gray ones. “How are you feeling?” he asked, perching himself on the edge of the bed.
“Better,” she said. She slid closer to him, her face serious. She sighed, resting her head on his shoulder.
“Something wrong?” he asked, absentmindedly stroking her dark hair. She merely sighed, biting her lip. She wiped away a tear that was beginning to bead up in the corner of her eye, and he looked away, pretending not to notice. Finally, he spoke.
“You don’t have to worry anymore. It’s over.”
She nodded slowly, sitting back up again. “That-that’s the problem though. I can’t not worry. They trusted me. And for awhile, I forgot, and trusted them back.”
He sighed, and wrapped his arms around her, unsure of what to say. “That didn’t stop you though. No, it helped you, didn’t it?”
A tear trickled down her face, and she pressed it into his shoulder again. “I-I don’t know. It just feels...weird. It doesn’t feel right. To think--”
He cut her off, not wanting to discuss the difficult subject. “You did great, though. And anyway, it’s all over.”
She sighed and nodded, wiping her face. “It’s all over.”
They sat in silence for a few minutes, pondering. Slowly, a smile spread on her face. Without warning, she leaned upwards and pressed her lips to his. Momentary shock registered in his gray eyes, but it faded and he smiled, beijar her back. Gradually, she broke away, looking up at him expectantly, the heat of the kiss still flashing in her blue-green eyes.
“For everything,” she said softly. They stared at each other for a few moments. The weight of the situation seemed to melt away, the burden lifted off her shoulders. It was over. She kissed him again, this time quickly breaking away. “Thanks, Tesla.”
Yeah, I’m trying to aim for shorter chapters, since in the past my chapters have been freaking novels. So let’s see how this works out.. Tell me what’cha think! *cackles evilly*

"So you're just going to let him leave to D.C.?" Lexi stared at her older brother.
"Yup."
"You're stupid! That's crazy you idiot! He'll get himself killed!"
"No he won't."
"Yes he will Jaime! He'll kill the President, be banned from the Military and THEN die!" Lexi folded her arms across her chest.
"He won't kill the President Lexi, stop daydreaming."
"Then you obviously don't know him."
"Actually I do, but you don't. Dad is going to D.C. for a meeting with House of Representatives, and the President to talk about what was stolen from the Navy." Jaime put his hands in his pockets, staring and his little sister.
"And what makes you think he won't go crazy?"
"Nudge will keep him under control. Trust me." Lexi almost dropped the phone that was in her hand.
"Nudge? I thought she retired."
"Nope, and Jack will be with her. Things will be fine." Jaime opened his wings an soared upwards. "You coming início or what?" Lexi sighed and followed him.
"Yeah."
"Yup."

"I'm trying to find a present for Holly, but have no idea—hey!"
"Uh-oh." Barbara said. "No."
"C'mon, Babs!"
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"I'm a fiery red-head, azevinho, holly is a sexy blonde."
Sam smirked. "You find azevinho, holly sexy?" he asked, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Barbara's blue eyes widened. "I mean, you see her as—that is to say that from the male perspective—"
Sam nodded in a "go ahead" gesture, but the Gothamite just glared at him.
"Go to hell, Grant."
"Someone's not happy."
Barbara hid her face behind the magazine.
