She could feel it creeping up her ankle and legs. It was hardening, making it impossible for her to move. A laugh sounded as it went higher.
“Sorry Devin but things must be done. You must be taken out of the picture.”
“What did I do, Amber?!”
“You betrayed me! You left Sensai, you roubou BACK your Angel's light, and you risked everything for one human! That betrayal will never be forgiven!”
“Amber...I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you but I had to save him! He was my brother!”
“You think apologizing will help?! No! It's time you payed the price!”
“What do you plan to do when I'm gone?”
“Infiltrate. Sensai taught us that. So I'll play pretend.”
“They'll never believe you! They know you Amber!”
The crystal was up to her neck now.
“Oh I know. That's why I'll look like you.”
“No!”
“Oh yes. I told you everything was mine and would be!”
Amber touched the stolen colar on her neck.
“Goodbye Devin.”

“No!”
Devin sat up, panting. She looked around and took a deep breath. She was safe. It took a few minutos to regain her composure.
“Oh that was horrible.”
Devin slipped out of cama and over to her cabinet of herbs and potions. She pulled out a mix of cinnamon and vanilla bean, heating up some water. She put the mix in, feeling relaxed por the scent. She sat on the couch, feet pulled up. She drank the soothing mixture, a full moon showing through her window. She heard a knocking sound and waited a few minutes.
It didn't sound again. Devin went to the door and opened it. The mug spilled from her hand, crashing over the floor. A crystallized rose sat in front of her door. A note was attached to it. Say goodbye to your little friends, my Crystal Angel. I'm coming for you.

Woman eternal,
She cannot die,
And ever dia of her years,
She shall cry.

Who harbors fear,
And harbors rage.
Angry daughter,
Along at last,

But people go por fast.
Heavyhearted,
Wandering soul,

She giggled when he put a dollop of frosting on her nose and he laughed when she tried to lick it off. He handed her a napkin, still laughing a little. She smiled and wiped it off as he pulled the now finished biscoitos, cookies from the oven.
“They smell yummy!”
“They have to cool before you can eat any.”
