Your new co-star has the floor, as Xavier Samuel spoke out this week about his casting as Riley in the final two Twilight Saga films.

Reportedly, the little-known Australian actor beat out American box office stars such as Channing Tatum and Tom Felton for the role. Samuel was shocked and excited when he learned the news.

"I was up against some truly great actors who I'm privileged to be considered among," the actor told a newspaper Down Under. "It's a fantastic opportunity.”

Australian baby face Xavier Samuel has been cast in Eclipse, the third flick in the Twilight franchise.

“I don’t have any facial hair, so it will be a while before I play the gruff leading man,” Xavier has said. “Maybe one dia I’ll get to play my actual age. For now my baby face has condemned me to play the teenager.”

According to THR, Xavier, 25, will play newborn vampire Riley, a good-looking college student who joins the plot of villain Victoria to murder protagonist Bella (Kristen Stewart). Riley is corrupted por Victoria, for whom he has an inexplicable weakness.

Australia’s The Herald Sun is reporting that Xavier Samuel (“Riley” in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) has scored a new film role in a 3-D thriller entitled Bait.”the estimated $20 million thriller . . . is about a tsunami that hits a seaside town, trapping local shoppers and tourists in a flooded underground shopping centre with a pack of hungry sharks,” reports The Herald Sun.Bait will co-star Step Up: 3D estrela Sharni Vinson, and it will be filmed in Queenland’s Gold Coast.This won’t be the first time Samuel has worked with water (in Eclipse, Drowning, and Newcastle, for instance), nor is it the first thriller he’ll have been in (The Loved Ones, Road Kill).
His film Anonymous (which co-stars The Twilight Saga: New Moon estrela Jamie Campbell Bower) has a release encontro, data of September 23rd in the U.S.
