Well, here we go again. Sorry for the complete lack of an actual real review for quite some time. I was busy with school, work, family, and a bunch of things you don’t care about, because you only came for a review. Well, a review is what you are going to get. So, let me introduce you to…….. Uh…… Shit…. There isn’t a whole lot to review left, huh? Damn….. Well, I got this one animê called D-Frag. It’s pretty underrated, so why don’t I review this? I got nothing better to review.
So, D-Frag is an animê por Studio Brain’s Base, who have worked on Princess Jellyfish, Durarara, and my personal favorite, Baccano. The series was also licensed por Madman Entertainment, who have worked on Dragon Ball Z, Akira, and all the Studio Ghibli films. D-Frag is also licensed por Funimation, and what the hell hasn’t Funimation worked on? Anyway, D-Frag is a comedy animê that follows a bad boy named Kenji Kazama, who is dragged into being a part of the Game Creation Club to help them create games, and let me tell you, crazy shit happens. Other characters include Roka Shibasaki, a moa girl and president of the Game Creation Club, who is said to be the strongest in the school. Then there’s Chitose Karasuyama, the president of the student council who uses her authority to put fear in students and even teachers. There’s Sakura Mizukami…… She has rosa, -de-rosa hair. There’s Minami Osawa, a school teacher who calças, calças compridas off and sleeps most of the time. And finally, Takao, president of the Real Game Creation Club, the rival to the Game Creation Club, and she- TITS! Sorry, her personality is- TITS! … basically, she has a huge chest. And then you got a bunch of minor characters, like perverted girl, crossdresser, muscular pacifist, masochistic vice-president, romantic man, guy who always wears sunglasses, and Chibi….. What a colorful cast of characters.
The show is basically using many different styles of animation, which I gotta say, I really like. It doesn’t try to stick to one style of animation, as each character is portrayed in different animê styles from different genres. That’s actually a very creative idea, and I kinda like it. The show is also used to have the main character point out the stupidity and absurdity of the school and it’s students and faculty, as basically, every day, something batshit insane happens. From the entire school having a duel over a bag, to a dangerous gang wanting to play a board game the Game Creation Club made. Hell, the first episode has Kenji running from the insane Game Creation Club members. The style of humor is something I really love, as most comedy animê rely on some guy falling in amor with a psychotic cadela, puta who beats the shit out of him. I’m sorry, but unless I’m The fucking Joker, watching someone getting beaten the fuck up isn’t funny to me. This animê can be cruel at times, but never does it show any cruel intentions in any of the characters, as they are either batshit insane, or injuries inflicted on other characters is either due to their own insanity or because they did it accidentally. Not to mention, just seeing the shit this school does it so damn funny. This kind of humor is what inspired the humor in my Wind’s Angry Adventure series, (By the way, read that. This is a shameless self-promotion). I haven’t laughed this hard at an animê since Ouran Highschool Host Club, another animê I recommend.
The series so far has one season, with only twelve episodes. I checked to see when season two would be coming out….. Not one scrap of information was found. It is most likely that this show will go on a huge hiatus like Attack on Titan or Haruhi Suzumiya, or it has most likely become the seguinte Panty and meia or Highschool of the Dead, with a season 2 being nothing but a hoax. That’s a goddamn shame, too. This was such an entertaining animê that seemed to have flew under the radar. I really liked it. It had wonderful comedy, fascinating animation, and great characters. If you are a fã of the slice of life comedy anime, then this is for you. And I rarely watch animê like that, so if I can say something positive about a slice of life anime, something must be good. But, hey, that’s only my opinion. What’s Your Take.
