How do you make clubs?

Hi,
I know this isn't totally to do with Warriors but I have noticed that many people have made their own fanclan clubs, but I can't seem to figure out how to make a club myself; I have googled it several times but to no avail-either they say there's supposed to be a button on the homepage (which there isn't), or else they comment a link which, when you click it, signs you out of fanpop and brings you to the sign in/register screen. Do you have to have a certain amount of awards or something? Or is there a far mais simple solution? I'd be mega grateful if people could tell me :)
