I sat at the computer, typing an email to my worried parents. Ever since I moved Micah and I to Colorado four years ago, they have been going crazy. They come down and visit whenever they can, but since the sun is out all the time, that is rare.
"Mommy," I hear Micah's little voice from the kitchen. He has grown so much in the past few years. Since he was premature, I thought he would be pretty tiny, but he has grown big like Jacob.
"What Micah?" I look at the door frame and see him sanding there with his thumb in his mouth.
He sighs and looks up sadly at me.
I stand and walk over to him. "What is it honey?" I kneel down and embrulho, envoltório my arms around him.
"Why don't I have a daddy like Will does?" I had hoped he wouldn't ask that.
I look at him and try to think of an answer. He knows when I am lying to him, so I have to tell the truth.
"Your daddy had to go away for a while, but he'll meet you someday."
"You promise?" He takes his hand out of his mouth and wraps his arms around me too.
"Yes, I promise." I smile faintly at him and he nestles his head in my shoulder.
I pull him back and look at his face. There is so much of Jake in him, that I almost feel I can see him standing seguinte to Micah.
"Now you were supposed to be napping." I pick him up and walk to his bedroom.
It is all decorated with wolves. Kind of a bad omen about his future, but that is what he wanted.
I put him on his cama and tuck him in. Before turning out the lights I glance back at him and watch his little eyes close.
The time has finally come to where, I don't know what to do anymore. My son has spent his entire life with out his dad, and I haven't done anything about it.
We need someone to support us. To put comida on the table. I need to let Jacob go and find someone to protect us.
I walk to my bedroom and lay across the mattress, hoping tomorrow will be an easier day.
Part 2. Jacobs POV
The instant it happened, everything stopped making sense. There was no air to breathe, nothing for me to touch, to feel. I was floating. I tried to stand up, to see where I was, but I was already standing. It was strange because just a segundo before I was flying through the air. There was a striking pain through my chest and then the nothingness.
I looked around and tried to see my hands but nothing was there. I was invisible. I looked down and saw a lobo that looked exactly like mine lying on the ground with a huge piece of wood in it's heart. Then it hit me, the lobo on the ground was me. I was on the ground dying, or at least my body was.
Then there were people swarming around the wolf. I saw the Cullen's and a few of the pack. Edward pulled the branch out of me. I could almost feel a little tickle on my chest. I could see that they were trying to see if I was alive or not, and they were leaning mais towards the segundo idea. Then I heard the words I was dreading, 'He's dead'. At that moment I started panicking. I thought about it and came to the conclusion that at the instant I died, my spirit escaped from my wolf, just like my grandfathers.
I knew I needed to find another body to fill. The time seemed to pass so slowly. I finally found an animal to adapt to.
And when I did, I was able to phase back to my human form. But I had no idea how much time I had taken in the process.
