Yes and no. IDK. I usually don't consider the couples that are made out by the writers to be "soul mates" to be soul mates. But I often consider a couple that wasn't "fated" from the pilot but fell together along the way because of similarities/compatibilites/whatever to be soul mates even if the writers didn't intend it that way, if that makes any sense.

Definitely not. I think you can have someone who you're compatible with and who treats you nicely, but the whole soulmates thing is stupid. No offense meant to those who do believe in soul mates :)

This. You took my words right out of my mouth. I also do believe in soulmates, but quite often it is not the one you are romantically involved with. It can be your best friend or your family. As for romance on tv, I don't buy those couples that the writers try to shove down my throat as soulmates because they met each other first on the show or have some common interests and so they are supposed to be "meant to be". IMO, this is not how it works and not what soulmates are. A tv couple needs time and time to proove that they are soulmates. And they might never proove it, and I think you don't necessarily have to be soulmates to fall in love. Like for instance, my OTP's are Spike/Buffy, Freddie/Effy and Sawyer/Kate, but I don't think any of them where soulmates.

Okay, so I believe in soul mates. But I hated how much they emphasized that Dawson/Joey were soulmates. I mean, it was a constant thing that kept coming back up. But I did like Jen/Jack as soulmates. Not boyfriend/girlfriend, but just best friends. I loved that.
