Should I read the books? I am SO into True Blood and don't want to ruin my expectations of the show.

The books are alot of fun, I got into them about 3 years atrás after a friend left her copy of 'Living Dead In Dallas' at my pool and I couldn't put it down, I immediately had to go out and buy 1-6 and have followed each one after.

Though the show follows the path of the books (major plotline wise) there are a lot of clever and creative deviations to keep the reader fanbase guessing. However there have also been times where I've wanted to slap Mrs. Harris silly (book 3 especially) but I guess thats with any series writer, and looking back I can applaud her for actually fleshing out her characters and giving them some REAL obstacles, unlike a certain "sparkling" author who shall remain nameless. So all in all, I recommend the books to *most* show fans, unless they are diehard Bill fãs in which the show is definitely better (his character in the books is quite dull among other things).

I loved the books, they are one of my favorito series of all time, and I read a lot, but since the segundo season started the fact that I've read the books makes me dislike the series mais and more, it makes me mad because the show is so good but they change so much stuff that they don't have to and it was usually better before they changed it...so I don't know what to tell you, because normally I'd say absolutely read the books, but i assume you want to keep liking the show

The books may be what the show was based on but they are vastly different from the show and the direction that the creator is taking it in so if you do read the books just know that what happens in the books won't necessarily be what happens in the show

Like they have all said they are great books. I am new to the series, both books and TV. I watched the show first and then started leitura the books, great way to get your no geral, global spoilers. All you really need to know is that the book is just as good as the show. It is different and you can read it with out ruining the whole show. The books are in first person so you get to know Sookie a lot better, but most of the side characters you would never get to know with out the show.

These books are ok. I have read all 9 so far. they are a easy read. I would recomend Twilight and The Black Dagger Brotherhood for a great read. The Black Dagger Brotherhood is definately adult, but they are fantastic!!!!!!Twilight well who can resist Edward.I would just watch the show and read the others.

i extremly disagree that twilight is a "great" read it is far mais and "easy" read as opposed to the sookie stackhouse books and definitly not better por a long shot

That would be your opinion. Twilight is a great amor story, where as Sookie books are mystery with alittle romance. I read Twilight over and over but Sookie i keep leitura just to see if she ends up with her first true amor BILL. Sookie books delve into to many paranoramal creatures. Fae, demons and too many types of were people. I amor vamps and I don't mind werewovles but the rest is not my cup of tea. I certainly son't like the ridiculous rules Miss Harris set for these vamps. The fact that Eric had to have male/male relations with his maker grosses me out. Just my opinion Edward and Black Dagger Brotherhood vamps RULE!!!
