The fact with stakes

If a vampire has wooden shrapnel, or splinters close to his or her chest, close to the heart, are they able to heal themselves, and have the splinters push out on their own, or is it too strong with it's wooden properties? I know that they can push silver out as Eric did, but with stakes that haven't hit the heart, or any pice of wood for that matter is beyond my knowing. I know that wood is stronger than silver.

If I understood well your question... I think the wood is automatically pushed out, unless it's in the coração because then the vampire dies... I'm not sure wood is stronger than silver, actually I don't think so... Yes, one of the only ways to kill a vampire is por using wood but if you just want to hurt a vampire, I think silver is stronger... Conclusion : wood=stronger to kill, silver=stronger to hurt... I guess ^^

The fact about vampire stakes: Because wood is used to be alive in nature to be able to suck all the remains of an undead life. Besides, you can never kill SOMETHING that's already been dead. Based on theory, trees urso fruits as symbol of life; from seed they have become another life than their own and suitable to carry life of others, even the life that doesn't exist at all.
