"So there's no doubt about it?"
"Not at all."
"But aren't they...?"
"Ssshh! Just look over there."
Bridgette and Geoff turned their heads while relaxing in the resort hot tub toward two teenagers sitting on stools por the suco, suco de bar. A slender red-head in a white one piece covered in limes, likewise to a boy with multiple facial piercing and red swim-trunks. The setting sun beat down on the still water surrounding their feet as giggles could be heard in the distant pools.
Sofie's mouth stretched in an awkward smile as she spoke, "And being just friends is okay with you?"
Duncan sweated, rubbing his right knee nervously. "Totally."
"Sorry about the whole--" she tried,
"N-no, it's fine. Forget it. Really."
Suddenly, Sofie flinched a colorful beach-ball was bopped on her leg. Looking over the edge of the seat, she spotted Ranma in the water with a bored, skeptical look that read: Your still coping with this scum-bag?
She blushed at a glimpse of his muscular arms holding the previously thrown ball. With her toes, Sofie desperately shooed him away mouthing pleads. A sigh escaped Duncan's lips, which caught both of their attention. His eyes with frowning upon himself with frustration.
"I'm sorry, Duncan! Ranma didn't--"
While being cut off rudely por her friend, Ranma climbed out of the pool and leaned smugly into Duncan's tanned face.
"Listen, mohawk. Sofie is done with you. So why don't you just leave her alone and go rob a bank?"
Duncan's frown twisted into a sickeningly frightful grin. "Thats pretty big talk for someone to has to wear a tampon."
Sofie's eyes went pale as Ranma's fist dug into Duncan's stomach and sent him flying backwards into the glass juice-bar window. Shattered glass plopped into the pool, along with trickles of blood that began to ooze from Duncan's sliced back. Painfully, they heard two girls scream his name. Sofie lunged from the chair onto land, and gripped the pigtailed-boy's hand while dragging him quickly to the other side of the resort as a crowd began to form around the bar.
Huffing heavy breaths and angrily wiping away the water from her eyes, she forced her words to some out.
"Ranma, you idiot!"
"I'm sorry!" he exclaimed, reaching for her hands. She whipped them away, though his touch was exactly what she needed.
"You could have killed him!" she shrieked, watching the commotion out of the corner of her green eyes. Ranma's mouth cringed.
"I was only trying to help..."
"And you think beating someone up solves anything?!" she questioned. He didn't give an answer. "You idiot..." she repeated. "You know how strong you are."
"I know." Ranma answered, letting his black hair fall in front of his eyes as he looked down and away from her. At that moment, Sofie wrapped his fingers vigorously around his pigtail and yanked it once. In a menacing voice and stated,
"You better hope Duncan is okay." and ran back to her teammates. As Ranma watched her disappearing figure into the glow of the laranja sun, two shameful tears dripped from his blue eyes.
"Everything I do, I do for you! Your the idiot!" he choked to himself, kicking a chair and storming in the other direction.
