It seems to me that Winx has really lost its magic touch. I honestly feel like I've been growing away from the show. I amor the first 3 seasons but the latest 3 just don't even seem like the same show anymore. Honestly I hate these 3 seasons, I really I do. Again, I don't even feel like I'm watching the same show; it's like watching a new show but the characters have all the same names as the characters from the other show and are drawn similar.
All this said I'm going to explain why I feel this way.
For one all the girls seem to look the same and dress the same. They used to have originality. The transformations like Magic Winx weren't so uniformed as they are now. Now they have the same outfit with a different color palate which is a darn shame. Those school uniform things are really horrendous. They're casual attire used to actually reflect their personalities. Techna and Musa wore pants and sneakers showing that they weren't as girly as all the others. Now they are wearing the same school uniforms with the mini-skirts and the heels. Musa's outfit had reflected mais of a hip-hop theme which went hand in hand with her attitude. Now she's just wearing the same thing everyone else is.
Another thing that gets me is that it seems like the show is aimed at a younger audience now, Winx used to be mais mature. It used to have mais mature themes and mais mature dialects. Now it's all happy bubbly and cheerful. Hell, season 5 had this whole unnecessary, irrelevant go green theme prior seasons never would have had. Inigo is running out of ideas. So what do I mean por this exactly? One example is how Mirta was 'a fairy born in a witch's body'. What does that sound like? That sounds like transexuality. And I thought that was really awesome. We also had deep things like Musa's dead mom and Stella's divorced parents--even Stella getting a new step mom who didn't like her. We had a cheating Sky. We had a ruthless Icy who went around telling people to kiss her boots. And for giggles I will mention that Icy Darcy and Stormy were all trying to be Darkar's main witch...um hello that's totally a play on the mais adult 'I wanna be his main bitch' thing!
We simply don't get that anymore with Nick wedging its... ...input 0:) into everything. We now have a perfectly pure Sky who'd never cheat. We have Stella's parents doing fine. They totally dumbed Icy, Darcy, and Stormy down to the point where they aren't really even villains anymore. They're practically jokes. And that's saying something coming from me as Icy is my favorito character and I usually never trash talk my favorites--my bias glasses usually keep me from seeing their flaws. Ya know I think I'm gonna give a separate paragraph to that one.
Sure Nabu died but that's as mature as it got.
Another peeve of mine is that everything is super girly and glittery now. The personalities are almost becoming the same. Musa and Tecna used to be tomboys...Bloom even used to wear pants. Now it's all skirts and heels and prissy attitudes. They are all practically one person and that person is Stella--all about make up and shopping and boys. What happened to my free-stylin' rap-spewing Musa? What happened to Tecna being the adorkable geek? How about Layla being that badass athletic tomboy? All three didn't have much of an interest in shopping and make up. Sure they touch on Tecna's amor of música and Musa's amor of música but it isn't as out there as it used to be...it isn't as defined.
In recent seasons I feel like the plot has disappeared all together. As said above; Inigo is running out of ideas. As mentioned there was that go green plot. It was irrelevant. It indicated that they didn't know what else to do. I feel like the plot is becoming recycled. Season 1 was so intriguing; an Earth girl finds out she's a fairy, the last fairy of her planet to be exact. Three kickass witches are trying to steal the ring of Solari and causing trouble just for shits and giggles and then they summon this crazy army of rot and decay. Season 2 was nifty as well; a shadow man trying to collect 3 codex to take over the world. You see the pixies and and meet Layla. You find out nuvem Tower is alive! You get Dark Bloom. There's a new way to earn a new transformation (by being Valente and fighting a fear). It was unique. Season 3 was fab; crazy Dracula-esque dude found in the Omega dimension. You find out that he aided in destroying Sparks. You find out that the ancestral witches created him. The process of earning the Enchantix through sacrifice (except for Bloom, who kinda cheated). The plots were deep, strong, relevant, and practically everything had a point.
Currently the plot is a mess, it's all over the place. A little bit of go green a little bit of whiney fish-man throwing a tantrum. The season as a whole literally had no point. Season six was a bit of animê (K-On), a bit of k-pop (I recognized that SNSD dance in the theme song...like wtf?), a bit of Lord of the Rings, and a bit of actual original Legendarium stuff. I mean this season wasn't all over the place like season 5, but it was still a hot-mess.
Another minor thing that really made Winx not feel like Winx is that (seasons 4 & 5 especially) didn't even take place at Alfea or Magix. It just didn't feel right.
And what's up with Daphne being human and Sparks being alive and well!? I get that the movie had Sparks all good and happy but it just took away from what very little complexity Bloom already had. And I don't even know what they were thinking making Daphne human. This Daphne isn't Daphne. She used to be mysterious and wonderous now she's a klutz and just like all the other characters.
Speaking of characters atuação out of character; Icy is practically a different character all together.This Icy isn't actually really Icy. Like this above all else pisses me off! I hate her! I freaking cannot stand her. And this is a character I used to pretend to be as a child! This is a character I still love...when discussing seasons 1-3. Seasons 1-3 Icy was badass. She had spunk. She had edge. She took shit from no one. She was indapenant and didn't need a man...yeah she went for Valtor and Darkar, but at the end of the dia she tossed them aside not the other way around. She was also super funny, snarky, and witty. Her insults weren't cliche and immature as they are in recent seasons. She was actually hardcore...could roll with your up-there villains. So what has her character been sourly reduced to? A amor sick puppy. She would have never put a douchecanoe like Tritannus before her sisters in pasts seasons. She wouldn't have let him take charge like that--the first thing she said to Valtor is something like 'you're cool, just don't try to give us orders.'
Also her freaking annoying new voice. I can't even listen to seasons 5 and 6 Icy without cringing. Her 4kids voice actress was spot on and pleasant to the ears. God I miss Lisa Ortiz!

What happened to Mirta and Lucy and all the other minor characters we loved? Seasons 1, 2, and 3 were cool in the light that they actually gave even the most minor characters a few lines and names. It showed them in battle it showed them in action with depth. Seasons 5 & 6 did not.
It doesn't help that my favorito dub of the show isn't a thing anymore. As I said Icy's new voice is annoying as all hell, doesn't suit her whatsoever--like that's the kind of voice you'd give to the ditzy character or a character like Stella. None of their voices really suit them. They all sound the same. The guy's voices are also all the same. None of them seem to put any real emotion into the voice acting, the laughs sound fake, the crying sounds fake, and there really is no change in tone. The dialog sucks too. 4kids and Rai had voice actors that actually put the effort in--it felt real. 4kids and Rai were witty and fun, the jokes actually made me laugh (like when Darcy asked if they were almost there and Stormy reminded her that she had the map. Or Icy's whole 'I told them you'll see soon enough loser and sent it in') that shit was freakin' funny when I was a kid. The stuff that had me laughing in recent seasons was just how bad the dialog was.

She thinks shes little miss perfect. Trying to do every thing. Calling all of the shots she doesn't think that her team could survive in the omega dimension so she tells her little pixy friend that they need her.
Really though there have been many pools and 95% of them don't have bloom as the best or prettiest or your favorite.
