Yes, really I love Daryl, but he's not my favorite character anymore LOL. I would still watch the show, I'm no quitter and the other characters are really good characters too. Besides, right now, Daryl's storyline is my least favorite of the five groups. It wasn't making the plot really going forward, at least before Beth was abducted and he found new group. But before that, it wasn't really interesting, at least in my opinion, I know some people liked it. But in his last two episodes, there is only like five scenes that I actually liked.
He is a vital element for the show but still I wouldn't give up, there are still other compelling characters on the show either. I dont give up that easily and on my fav. show Homeland, they killed my fav. drama character ever, and I didnt give in. Never!
It wouldn't be the same without Daryl but I still love Carol and Michonne and there will always be new characters and I might like some new characters more than Daryl.
Well in my honest opinion, I think you're wrong to think that most people can't live without him. Everyone right now is living without him and they're doing just fine, except maybe for Beth. But, Rick can take care of himself, Michonne too, Carol, Tyreese, Glenn, Maggie, Sasha, Bob, Tara, Abraham... They are all very much capable of taking care of themselves, and we had plenty of proof of that. But yes, to answer your other question, I'd be upset if Daryl died, because I really like him.
I know, not a very good reason.
The fangirls can't live without him, though! xD
