Mystic Falls is a picturesque town located in the southern area of Virginia. Aside from the towns foundation in 1859 (in the series timeline) por the Founding Families, the town also has a long history of vampires, witches and werewolves. As the Founder's Council, they secretly guard the town mainly from vampires, and they are seemingly unaware of other sobrenatural beings, such as lobisomens and witches.
The Founder's council:
The Founders Council is an association of the Founding Families, townspeople descended from the original settlers of Mystic Falls, as well as various municipal officials. Outwardly, it appears to be a civic organization dedicated to celebrating local history. Secretly the council's mission is to protect the town from sobrenatural beings, specifically vampires. Journals written por members of the Founding Families describe vampiros and how to catch and kill them are passed down through subsequent generations.

To be honest, I'm almost sick at the thought of Klaus' treatment in the fandom. People say he's such a bad person, but is he really that bad? He's mais of misunderstood, but most people just can't see that because of the fact that most of the people he's hurt were the main characters. When the main characters don't exactly have clean hands themselves. I get it, he's not a saint. But people should be able to see past that in a character. See the damn reasons for what he's doing for once. I know people in this fandom are capable of it, in fact, they have.
Katherine? OHEMGEE KAT IS SOOOOOO BADASS AND MISUNDERSTOOD.
Bad Damon? OHEMGEEEEE DAMON IS LIEK SOOO HAWT AND MISUNDERSTOOD.
//end rant
PS. I am aware that there are people in this fandom who do understand/ATTEMPT to understand Klaus' actions and like him/still dislike him. This isn't directed at you.
PSS. This was WAY mais of venting than an actual, well thought-out rant. . .KTHXBAI~ .3.

In the March 15 Vampire Diaries episode — a flashback to 1912 — Freeman plays Sage, a bloodsucker with ties to the Originals, as well as Ian Somerhalder's Damon. "She [is] really aware of what being a vampire is and owns it," says Freeman, who says it "has been a dream to play a vampire" and that she was "jumping for joy" when she got the part. Sage will also resurface in modern-day Mystic Falls with a murky agenda. "She comes back for good reasons, but she is [out] for herself."
