I thought I'd write this artigo on some of the commonly used arguements and what i think of them, as I'm close to neutral i think that my opinions will be acceptable whichever show you prefer.

FAMILY GUY




Family Guy is funnier

You tend to hear the arguement that it's really all about mais from the Family Guy side, and I guess it's true, i think there might be a bit mais laughs, but that all depends on how much you get, if you spent 5 years in a cave on Mars, The Simpsons would be far funnier, it all depends on how much attention you pay to pop culture and how funny you find it.




The Simpsons has been going too long

I think that this may be the weakest arguement there is, the reason The Simpsons has been going on so long is because so many people continue to find it funny, maybe if it wasn't for the departure of the genuis Seth MacFarlane and the best charater, Stewie (although as MacFarlane provides Stewies voice they might have actually have been one event) Family Guy could have lasted longer, but without MacFarlane, I can't see it happening, and even if he returns, the show might "Do a Dallas" and struggle with a character's return.




Now The Simpsons copies from Family Guy so they can't complain about being copied from

This is a tough one but the way i see it, they're using the same type of jokes, but I don't think Family Guy can "call" these jokes, these have been used a lot before and Family Guy might have done it before The Simpsons did, but it's not ripping off Family Guy.







THE SIMPSONS




The Simpsons was the original

Well, that's true, it did come first, but it's changed so much does it really mean as much, The Simpsons was the first of it's type, which Family Guy was also in, but Family Guy is also the first of a different type, which The Simpsons are now in, so being the original isn't really all that big.




The Simpsons has mais to it than funny

That's definately true, but you don't watch The Simpsons or Family Guy to see lessons learnt or romance or anything like that, you watch it for laughs, so that looks like another fact that means squat.




Family Guy is a Simpsons rip-off

We all know about this, we hear it all the time, but is it true? In my opinion, the characters are, but not the storylines, which are entirely different ad can never be a rip-off, anyway, I'm not even sure about the characters, because they're just a dysfunctional family, fat dad, stressed mom who in real life would never marry fat dad, stupid brother, smart and unpopular sister and a baby, so, come to think of it, I'm not entirely sure if it is a rip-off.

so there you have it, my opinions on the most widely used arguements, I even think i might have realised things about myself i never knew.
