chapter 8

Percy's POV

"Uh oh," sighed Percy. Annabeth was going to kill him. Sure enough, her hand drifted down to her faca like she wanted to draw it and stab him.

Octavian looked excited.

Hazel came to the rescue. "You know, Annabeth, Percy saved our lives mais that twice on our quest, even without the Mark of Achilles."

"Yeah!" Frank added. "And he killed a giant! Percy's cool even without some strange Greek blessing."

Annabeth smiled. "I guess you're okay, Seaweed Brain. Just don't get killed now."

Octavian looked disappointed.

Reyna shoved him over. "I am Reyna, praetor of Camp Jupiter and daughter of Bellona. This is the augur, Octavian, the legacy of Apollo, and this-"

"Ah ha!" shouted Leo.

"What?"

"So that's his name, not Octopus! Jason, you told me the wrong name!"

Jason glared at Leo. "I-what? I told you his name was Octavian!"

"No you didn't."

"Yes I did!"

"When?" asked Leo, crossing his arms and, for some reason, whipping his hair in a very poor imitation of Justin Beeber.

Jason was staring at Leo like he'd lost his mind. "Just now, on the ship."

"No, that's when you told me his name was Octopus!"

"I-Leo, what the heck are you talking about?"

Meanwhile, Octavian was staring at this conversation with a horrified look on his face. He was strangling his teddy bear.

"AND he has a teddy bear!" Leo cried triumphantly, seizing the stuffed toy. "What a baby!"

Octavian was starting to turn beet red, glaring at the Greeks while Jason and Piper tried to grab the teddy urso from Leo.

"Umm..." Hazel trailed off. Percy wondered if the boy she remembered, Sammy Valdez, had ever acted this crazy. "Maybe something happened to him when he fell off the ship."

"Good point," said Annabeth. She smacked Leo as hard as she could in the back of the head. "Grow up!"

Leo collapsed, letting go of the teddy bear. Octavian ran over and picked it up. His hair was in stark contrast to his brilliant red face.

"Just to clear up any... questions-" he forced the word perguntas out like it hurt him to say it "-that the Greeks might have, I read the will of the gods in the stuffing that has been removed from the beanie babies. I take it out with a faca and allow myself to see their will."" his voice got all mysterious at the end of the sentence, like he was trying to sound like a fortune teller at a fairground. Several of the Greeks snorted.

"That's abusive to the teddy bears!" a voice came from the back of the group of Greeks. Conner and Travis Stoll stepped out with Rachel, the Oracle of Delphi, standing between them. She walked right up to Octavian and burst out laughing. "If you can predict the future, demonstrate it."

"And who are you to tell me what to do?"

Rachel rolled her eyes. "Rachel Elizabeth Dare, Oracle of Delphi."

Looking scandalized, Octavian took out his faca and got ready to rib out the poor bear's stuffing when Leo jumped up, screaming. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

"Um Leo, what the heck?" asked Piper.

Leo was breathing very hard. His face was covered in mud, which kind of made sense because he'd just spent the last minuto lying on the ground, and scratches, which made no sense whatsoever. "The giant's after me! My mom was there, and then she wasn't, and Gaea kept telling me to cadastrar-se her or she'd really destroy my mother, and..." He fell to the ground in a dead faint.

"Well, that's the third time so far," stated Reyna matter-of-factly. "Let's discuss this... um,, strange dream in the senate house."

"Where?" asked Piper.

Percy pointed at the senate house. "Right there. And someone should probably carry Leo..."

"On it," Jason said gruffly, bending down to attempt to pick up the unconscious Leo. "Ugh, he's heavy. Give me some help here, somebody."

Clarisse stomped over and grabbed Leo's arm. "Let's get going, wimp. He's not that heavy."

Dragging Leo behind them, the demigods, all the Greek counselors and the Roman centurions set out for the senate house.

sorry for the lame ending, but it was getting kind of long, so i just ended it. this is really slow at first, but it'll get better after a while. and I called the senate house the senate house because i didn't know what else to call it. but what do you think? Reviews are awesome!

Hazel V

I got up to the amazing smell of food, I looked around and I was that o was still under the huge willow tree. The wind blowing in my hair, the cheering sounds from the feast. Ugh I muttered to myself as I tried to get up but something was holding me down I couldn’t get up, couldn’t move. Omigosh! I was tied to the ground with… with the roots of the willow tree. You have fought bravely enough with your friend... I heard it the faint whisper, that voice that makes me...
