Eight-year-old Tricia Kellett was last seen on May 7, 1982 in Chicago, Illinois. She left her family's apartment after school that day to play with her friends in the street. She was seen playing with puppies on a neighbor's porch and then she was seen getting inside of a car with two men near the corner of Leland and Malden.

After her mom realized that Tricia was missing at 4:00 p.m. that afternoon, her family began searching for her. Although her mom called the police a few times that night, they didn't help with the search until 10:00 p.m.

Investigators believe that the man Tricia was with on the day she went missing was Marvin Pontarelli, who has a criminal history of kidnapping, rape and sexual assault. Three witnesses picked him out of a lineup and another witness saw Marvin going inside of the Maiden Arms Hotel with Tricia and another man.

Marvin was questioned about Tricia's disappearance and he took a polygraph which he failed. He was charged with other offenses involving other kids in the neighborhood including contributing to the delinquency of a minor, indecent liberties with a child, child pornography, and various weapons charges.

Three of Tricia's friends picked Marvin out of a lineup and said that on the day of Tricia's disappearance, he took them to his apartment, gave them drugs & alcohol, sexually assaulted them, forced them to engage in sexual acts and photographed them. Although the police discovered evidence of child pornography in his apartment, the charges were dropped against Marvin six months later after the victims failed to show up to court to testify against him.

In 1984, the police spoke to Larry Fassier, a former inmate that Marvin met in a California prison, who told them that he thought Marvin was responsible for Tricia's disappearance. In 1985, Marvin claimed that Tricia was dead and her body was buried on some property owned by his family in Illinois. He claimed that Larry killed Tricia, but changed his story weeks later and speculated that Larry took her to Mexico.

In the years since, Marvin Pontarelli and Larry Fassier are now deceased. Tricia's case is classified as a non-family abduction.
