Two-year-old Everlyse Cabrera was reported missing on June 10, 2006 in North Las Vegas, Nevada.

At the time, she and her younger brother were living with their foster parents, Vhee and Manuel Carrascal. The Clark County, Nevada Department of Family Services got involved with the Cabrera family after her younger brother tested postive for drugs at birth. The Cabreras surrendered their parental rights to her siblings and allowed them to be adopted by their foster family.

Vhee and Manuel stated that they checked on Everlyse (who was asleep in her bed) at 1:00 a.m. and when they checked on her again at 8:00 a.m., she was gone. They thought that Everlyse stood on a chair, unlocked the front door and wandered out of the house. They didn't report her disappearance to the police for four hours when they realized she was gone.

When the police started investigating, the Carrascals stopped cooperating with them. They stated that nobody outside of the foster family remembers seeing Everlyse after May 15, 2006 which was when her biological parents, Marlena Olivas and Ernesto Cabrera last saw her.

Marlena and Ernesto filed a lawsuit against the Carrascals and the Clark County, Nevada Department of Family Services, alleging that they were negligent in supervising and monitoring Everlyse while she was in their custody. The lawsuit was later settled for $300,000.

When Ernesto and Marlena last saw Everlyse, they saw a burn on her hand and when they asked about it, they got no answer about how it happened. A previous foster child of the Carrascals was hospitalized for second and third degree burns and was removed from the house.

Everlyse's case is classifed as an endangered missing person.
