There's a lot of people who have opinions on the various Joker actors. They often discuss which Joker actor is the best. An actor that deserves mais attention is Cesar Romero.

A lot of people think that Adam West and Burt Ward were the first batman and Robin, but they weren't. The first batman and Robin actors came from 1943 and 1949 movie serials. However the first Joker actor came from the 1966 live action show. Cesar Romero played the Joker in 19 episodes. The Joker was one of the main antagonists of the 1966 show and film although he had some competition with Penguin, Catwoman, and Riddler.

The other live action Joker actors and Mark Hamill tend to get mais attention than Cesar Romero. Although the Joker has been played por various talented actors some of them don't get as much attention as they should. Mark Hamill has the advantage of being in the most loved batman show, Jack Nicholson has the advantage of being a highly beloved actor, Heath Ledger won a Oscar and his batman film is considered to be the best superhero film, and Jared Leto has the advantage of being considered to be great looking and funny.

WhY So sErIOuS?

Why so serious?
The grin in his face was one of a maniac.
There was mais to it than you know.
This was a mad man in control of his madness.
He was the agent of anarchy.
There was no stopping him.
One could only kill him.
He was the unstoppable force,
that met the immovable object.
The collateral damage was inevitable.

Do you know how he got his scar?
Don’t ask me, because I don’t know.
Every time he says different stories but,
Each time it ends with making you smile, quite literally.

Was he strong enough to challenge the dark knight?
The pergunta is unanswered.
It was not a matter of strength; it was the matter of gut.
He feared not the dark knight.
He feared not the darkness.
He feared not even death.
That was why he was scary.
He was the man without logic.
He was the one without reason.
How do you negotiate?

The Joker: I'm in control of the asylum. You're not going anywhere I don't want you to. Understand?
Batman: If you think I'll let you run...
The Joker: Blah, blah, blah! Always with the hero speak! I'm getting bored of watching you. Why don't you just come find me?
The Joker: I'm getting bored.
The Joker: [Over the P.A. system] Ding d-ding, dong! Joker here! Here's what's new in the asylum... Some idiot is running around the asylum, dressed like a bat...! I know! Crazy! He should be considered costumed and dangerous.
The Joker: [Over P.A System, about Batman] Remember guys, he may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot, but don't let that fool you, he really is an idiot.
Killer Croc: I've got your scent, Batman! I'm going to hunt you down.
[gets shocked]
Killer Croc: A toy colarinho, colar won't stop me from killing you, Batman. I'm going to rip you apart, eat your bones.
The Joker: That reminds me, I really need to get me some new shoes.

It's Sir Michael Caine's opinion that Heath Ledger beat the odds and topped Jack Nicholson's Joker from batman (1989):

"Jack was like a clown figure, benign but wicked, maybe a killer old uncle. He could be funny and make you laugh. Heath's gone in a completely different direction to Jack, he's like a really scary psychopath. He's a lovely guy and his Joker is going to be a hell of a revelation in this picture."

Caine bases this belief on a scene where the Joker pays a visit to Bruce Wayne's penthouse. He'd never met Ledger before, so when Ledger arrived and performed he gave Caine such a fright he forgot his lines.

She inhales sharply.
She hates the irony, and the pain is too much.
She cannot see his face;
He has advanced from behind.
But she does not need too,
She knows his face too well.
His faca digs deeper into her soft cheek.
He is carving a heart;
Mocking her obsession of him.
He whispers something incoherent to her.
She wishes she had listened closer.
He caresses her unmarked cheek with his gloved hand.
She closes her eyes,
Half wishing it was over,
Half wishing it would never end.

Title: “The Impossible Smile”
Rating: R and a bit of nc-17

Pairing: Joker/Harley, mentions of Maroni, OFC hired thugs

Warnings: violence; both physical & sexual, violent talk, adult language

Summary: As Joker & Harley prepare for siege on the segundo City comedy club, they must hire some henchmen for protection. The “lite” plan is about to go underway.

Author’s Note: por the way, there is an “Afro-American” henchman, and I have him talking just like any black man would talk that is from Chicago/Gotham (as well as me giving the mobsters visible accents and, most importantly, The Joker). TDK was filmed in Chicago, and I spent 14 yrs. of my life living there, so I would know. It is in NO WAY RACIST, okay? And I say “lite” plan, because does The Joker “look like a guy with a plan?”

I heard talk coming from my office, so I walked in to find Joker with his legs crossed atop my desk. He looked so commanding, so sexy. I reached into my leather pants, and dividido, dividir the bills right in front of his face. Sitting up on the opposite side of the table, I threw my leg over his head, but slowly, like a...

Thats why he played an awesome role:

"To prepare for the role, Ledger lived alone in a hotel room for a month, formulating the character's posture, voice and psychology, and kept a diary, in which he recorded the Joker's thoughts and feelings to guide himself during his performance. While he initially found it difficult, Ledger was eventually able to generate a voice that did not sound like Jack Nicholson's take on the character in Tim Burton's 1989 batman film. He was also given Batman: The Killing Joke and Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth to read, which he "really tried to read [...] and put it down". Ledger also cited inspirations such as A Clockwork laranja and Sid Vicious, which were "a very early starting point for Christian [Bale] and I".

(I took it from an answer in one of the quizzes, thanks to the person who putted in there)
