Is anyone else mildly unhappy about Jennifer Lawrence's being cast as Katniss?

She's not even brunette like i pictured her in the book... I wasn't happy when i found out it would be her. Hopefully she's a good actor which is all we can really hope for right now...

I am. I was hoping for an unknown too. There are plenty of girls out there that can act too that actually look the part, I am upset because she is probably the farthest looking from the Katniss I had in my mind, but I guess we will just have to wait and see...nothing we can actually do about it. The book and the movie are different things, she's not the katniss I pictured but she is the Katniss in the movie. See what I mean? Don't let it ruin your opinion on the movie though...it's still going to be epic:)

Mildly is an understatement, I'm really disappointed. She's an amazing actress, but she's 20 and she looks 20. I guess they must have cast her for a reason though. I really wanted Hailee :(

When I first found out that she was the frontrunner, I thought Katniss is gonna look like a barbie doll? Too pretty. I thought she didn't look like her at all but when I imagined her with darker hair, she didn't seem all that pretty to me. And her skin is not too pale maybe they can make her skin a little bit darker. About her age, I think she's not too old. There are much older actors out there playing high school kids on tv. I think she should look pysically strong,too and Jen looks that way and I'm really glad that they've chosen a talented actress because if Katniss wasn't good, the whole movie would suck like the way Twilight did. Kristen Stewart ruined Twilight for me.

I think that she's a really good actress and she can pull it off. They can always dye her hair brown.

i actually read somewhere that she will be dying her hair. my main concern isn't who...if they can get her to look the part then amen. maybe she'll look mais like katniss with a bow and Arqueiro in her hand?

but they better not screw her up like they did annabeth in the percy jackson movie....

i guess my main point is that if we immediately see her as a katniss in like the first 5 minutos of the movie, than she's a great actress. if not, then hollywood is even mais screwedd.

No, actually. You see, most of The Hunger Games is just her, and the actress has to be able to portray the emotions described in the book on her face. That's hard. I would rather has an amazing actress like her that might be a little too old, than some unknown who looks exactly like Katniss but can't act.
